    Pros

Great company to work for. They take care of their employees.

    Cons

They are becoming stagnant and opportunities for advancement are slow.

    Pros

The job has decent pay and commission as well as great benefits. They definitely promote a diverse workforce. In collections it's approximately a 3 to 1 ratio of female to males (at the time of posting) with advancement displaying a similar ratio.

    Cons

Management is sluggish to respond to employee inquiries, stating they will review and address them, but never getting back to you. Also some of the metrics you are held responsible for you have no control over. (Example, you are responsible to collect on every call, even if there is no one on the other end of the phone.)

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, ensure the metrics you are holding them responsible for are something they can do something about.

I worked at Cox Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was a full time employee for over a decade. Very good pay, way above other local companies for the same position. Very good benefits and lots of time off.

    Cons

Continuously promoted non-qualified people into positions above their head in the name of "diversity." This happened from the very top down to starter positions. After lots of failing upper corporate management has to step in and clean up the mess... constantly. Local management plays favorites across the board which feeds into the diversity mess. Constant downsizing and being told half-truths by upper management about job safety can get depressing. After being passed over for a third time for a job in favor of being "diverse" by hiring non-qualified people with no degree or experience in the job I left the company.

    Advice to Management

Nothing. If you can't learn form your constant mistakes and slipping position in the marketplace you won't ever change.

    Pros

Pay was ok. Benefits great. If you are strictly conservative, you will thrive in this company

    Cons

Be careful who you say "Hello" to. This company is not for those who consider themselves "people" types. And as previously mentioned, Tech support is really Tech sales. Hate to say it because it seems cliche but not a good company for entry level ethnic groups. Diversity is the last thing they want here.

    Advice to Management

Seniority does not instantly constitute good workers. Unless you're just trying to get rid of new people who better work ethics then the tenured people that don't want to work.

I worked at Cox Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free Cable and Internet, pension, 401k match 50% up to 6%

    Cons

Where do I start, the company was a good company to work for about 3-5 years ago. When the company became a COE everything went downhill. Agents were EASILY making 60K to 80K per year back then. When the company changed to COE they also changed the commission structure and the scorecards were harder to meet expectations. This company became greedy and started treating there employees like just another number. The job became extremely stressful, constantly being cursed out and belittled by customers. You know the job sux when top agents making great commission quit. Thats why I left, best decision I made.

    Advice to Management

Stop committing commission manipulation to you employees, the job is extremely stressful they deserve better commission payouts.

    Pros

Decent pay, good pay time off scheduling system

    Cons

Management does not care, tech support is actually sales but harder nothing technical at all

    Advice to Management

Please make sure to note this is a customer service / sales i felt very mislead by the job posting

I have been working at Cox Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good PTO and medical benefits

    Cons

This is not a technical support job. This is customer service. They require you to sell, customer service, and learn bits about the whole company. They will not tell the truth in the interview.

    Advice to Management

Split up the experienced teams and new teams so the new teams can have help.
