I worked at Cox Communications full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They really work to foster a sense of teamwork and all of my bosses had my back.

    Cons

Working in a call center means that your view is limited to the cubicle your in, and if you're doing your job properly there is no downtime.

    Advice to Management

Honestly just keep doing what your doing, the only reason I left was that a call center is not for me.

I worked at Cox Communications full-time

    Pros

Pay was ok. Benefits great. If you are strictly conservative, you will thrive in this company

    Cons

Be careful who you say "Hello" to. This company is not for those who consider themselves "people" types. And as previously mentioned, Tech support is really Tech sales. Hate to say it because it seems cliche but not a good company for entry level ethnic groups. Diversity is the last thing they want here.

    Advice to Management

Seniority does not instantly constitute good workers. Unless you're just trying to get rid of new people who better work ethics then the tenured people that don't want to work.

I worked at Cox Communications as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cox Communications cable technician is an innovative field to work with various cutting-edge technologies from television to internet services. Internet services in Wichita, KS are undoubtedly the best in class.

    Cons

Cox often monopolizes customers including loyal customers. Being an end-user technician that interacted with every customer, cable technicians here every issue with the customer's bill, often times customers threatened to leave Cox services because of pricing. However, no one can compete with Cox services.

    Advice to Management

Take into account customer loyalty when interacting with each and every customer, including loyalty-only promotional. Lower the fence between contractors and internal Cox Communications Services, such as complaints for picking up equipment at Cox Solutions Stores. Picking up equipment from Solutions Stores is sometimes an only option, it's only the customers that suffer from failure to complete work orders. This is among many other issues involved with the 2-way handshake between Cox Communication and contract laborers. This reflects in contractor conversations when customers ask if they enjoy working for Cox Communications.

    Pros

Love the company and people I work with. Hours are long and if people don't show up for work you get suck working long hours.

    Cons

Hate upper management, and the customers are super mean. They believe they can say or do anything they want and management is just worried about your NPS score.

I have been working at Cox Communications (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits are good. Free cable.

    Cons

While in an entry level position you're treated amazing. As you move up through the company you obviously get more responsibility, but you're also appreciated less. Pay is moderate to low. Management specifically in the call center is contradictory. She is a poor communicator, two faced, and holds a grudge forever.

    Advice to Management

Look back 10 years. That was a good company to work for. This..... well there are worse places...... I guess.
