    I have been working at Crabtree & Evelyn full-time

    Pros

    The company's work/life balance is really the best part. You receive a holiday every month other than November and December.

    Cons

    The biggest problem with the company is communication. There is a huge disconnect somewhere and it impacts business drastically. Many of times they would delay product launches, advertise a GWP and wouldn't receive the GWP for weeks later. They also planned on discontinuing products because they were on a list and realized they weren't supposed to be discontinued. The company made a huge mistake with a new inventory system which caused all stores to manually process any inventory procedures and that has been going on for months. The POS system does not have sales properly programmed, so you must calculate everything beforehand and do mark downs. There has never been a theme that was 100% programmed into system. Finally certain upper management will take advantage of employees and do shady practices to keep them ahead.

    Advice to Management

    Find the communication problem and fix it. Do not announce a launch date for anything until everything is in place and ready to go. Fix your basics! Communication , inventory and POS ! Then on a side note ensure all district managers are held to same standard and challenge them even if you think they wouldn't do anything wrong.

    Pros

    Good brand, several dedicated, long term employees still trying to save a troubled company.

    Cons

    Senior mgmt says one thing, does another constantly. Very poor systems and lack of inventory. No focus on delivering commitments to customers.

    Advice to Management

    Own your mistakes and stop scapegoating the employees. Think about your remaining customers.

    I loved my job. Very flexable with work hours. Get half off on all products!

    Cons

    They shut our store down even though we were top 10 in the U.S due to lease being up and they wanted to move all stores to the Coasts.

    Advice to Management

    Stay in Central United States in busy touristy towns to help build product up. Our store personally got people from all across the country. Both people who have heard of it and those who never did but soon became regulars.

    The people are awesome. Although my boss has since retired. The products are awesome. The store is beautiful. Discount is super.

    Corporate Management is demanding. They want results... even if the traffic doesn't support the desired results.

    You have to either advertise or realize that the impressive crowd doesn't come to the outdoor mall to shop - they come for the concerts & to use the facilities.
