I have been working at Cracker Barrel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, if they follow your availability. Great guest, daily money, co-workers are like family.

    Cons

Requested time off approved then still scheduled, management could use better training.

    Advice to Management

Pleasing people is the motto, which is repeated to us often, but forgotten when it comes to the employees being people as well. We're humans, and we too have feelings.

    Pros

Some of the co workers are really great people

    Cons

Hours are lacking, managers want everything they want done done right away but complain when you don't get your actual job finished, and they are an overall pain

    Advice to Management

Clean up your act and stop overstaffing every 2 weeks

I worked at Cracker Barrel part-time

    Pros

Great job and company values. Management was great and was flexible with my schedule while finishing school. Server pay was better compared to other restaurants and the atmosphere was most of the time great. Also 50% off employee meals and health insurance. Training is also great.

    Cons

Most of the time too many servers were scheduled causing smaller stations and less potential for great tips. Management went downhill, the great ones left and the place seemed to have fallen apart.
Leftover food/wrong orders had to be thrown away instead of donated to the staff, seeing so much food go to waste was sad. Other restaurants I worked didn't waste as much.
No smoking, no outside breaks, and need a manager walk out at all times. (Not a big deal to me smoking wise, however going out for fresh air is nice after a rush).

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge/reward the great employees so they stick around and hire competent management staff.

I have been working at Cracker Barrel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My work group (finance and accounting) is staffed from top to bottom with talented people with integrity. Same is true of other functions - it's a pleasure to work in this strong, supportive team environment. The company's highest rewards are for humility and service, so people with large egos don't last long.

    Cons

Just trivial things that one experiences anywhere. Just gotta tuck and roll with the small stuff.

    Advice to Management

    Stay smart and humble!
