    I worked at Craig-Hallum Capital Group full-time

    Pros

Craig-Hallum is a private company with a very strong management team. The organization is sales focused and has one of the most impactful morning calls of any brokerage firm.

    Cons

Research analyst can be a little too short term focused. This is a fairly minor issue...they do solid work.

I have been working at Craig-Hallum Capital Group full-time

    Pros

Sales force is aggressive and persistent

    Cons

Analysts are given too little priority in the food chain. The product comes 100% from research yet they are not treated well enough. This will lead to most analysts leaving.

    Advice to Management

Cut the sales force in half, provide resources to research analysts and a salary base. Its fine for the sales to work on a draw + % but for analysts it is too far below market.

Lacks opportunities for growth as the firm is fully staff with senior analysts.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Good for young research analysts and an Ok place to start your career. Work pressure is not severe.

    Cons

Aggressive culture. Atmosphere not collegial. There are few if any opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to Management

It is what is really. It's a small firm where analysts are aggressively competing to raise revenues in what is a shrinking industry. Compensation could definitely be better.

    I worked at Craig-Hallum Capital Group full-time

    Pros

One of only a handful of investment banks headquartered in the twin cities. Solid niche in the small/micro cap market, especially with regional stocks

    Cons

Company ran a pretty tight budget in regards to expense accounts, travel, etc, which could make the daily routine difficult. That being said, the company is owned by management so it was a reflection of how management treated their own expenses.
