I worked at Crawford & Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None. This is a ridiculously horrible company.

    Cons

The cover picture is hilarious because it demonstrates just how cheap this company is. I went to this event last year. It occurred on a Saturday rather than a work day when it should have been scheduled. It started at 7:30 am on Saturday; the only food they offered for breakfast was an apple! Incredibly cheap. Beyond that, however, the company's cheapness is evident in every aspect of its business. There's a mass migration of US jobs to Manila/India employees who are paid 20% of what a US employee is paid. Huge morale killer in operations and in IT areas. Senior executives are narcissistic, sociopathic or both. None of them can be trusted to act in employees' best interests. Just a horrible, horrible culture and environment. Glad I left.

    Advice to Management

Get some mental health treatment to address your narcissistic/sociopathic personalities.

I worked at Crawford & Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing positive to say other than you take home a paycheque.

    Cons

Poor or no supervision. Stressed work environment. They overwork you. There are no raises and you have to write your own work review. No training. They can get rid of you at whim by saying they are restructuring and there is no place for you. Then a few months down the road your job is posted on this site with a different title.

    Advice to Management

Communication needs to be greatly improved. Stop promoting yourselves and increasing your salary while all the front line people are working hard and making Crawford money.

    Pros

No pros. Worst place to work for. I hated my life and my mental health was detoriorating.

    Cons

The company sucks. You get no benefits. You are required to overwork as they make you sign a contract.

    Advice to Management

Unless you are a white male there is no growth opportunities for you. Management follows a dictatorship approach.

I have been working at Crawford & Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-GREAT coworkers who look out for you and genuinely care about you
    -CEO is approachable
-Really trying to revamp fun employee activities
-Jeans during summer months (wish it could be all year long!)
    -New office design is cool
-Crawford is starting to finally learn that investing employees outweighs a lot of other things
-Flexible Work Hours typically allowed by most managers

    Cons

-Pay is way below market rate--Crawford relies on the 'loyalty tax' placed on committed employees. Merit it supposed to account for cost of living increases, but it doesn't do justice.
-Crawford culture isn't really existent, it definitely needs to be re-branded.
-Some employees still have desktops, way too old school and will prevent them from enjoying the 'community workstations' at the new office. Also prevents them from being able to work @ home if needed. (Which if offered to 1 person, should be offered to all, as long as their performance eval remains good).
-Not a place fit for millennials to grow (yet), but it is a great starting point to gain experience from tenured employees, before getting another job.
-New office location is too far out, making the horrible Atlanta commute even worse.
-Only exempt employees allowed to do leadership courses, which seems unfair. This should be offered to all. Leaders can be nonexempt too!

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in your employees. Give them the tools and resources that they need to be successful/grow/develop. Do more fun activities for employees or offer more perks (like jeans every day, summer hours, etc). Happy employees are more productive.

I have been working at Crawford & Company full-time

    Pros

There are many outstanding resources at Crawford & Company.

    Cons

The newest trend is to hire and lay off based on projects versus skills. I have seen very skilled resources be eliminated because their projects were completed. We were told if we worked hard and kept a good attitude we would find a place in the "new" organization; this did not come to fruition for many people.
Raises are close to non-existent (never higher than 2%), and benefits are starting to decline.
The only concern at Crawford & Company is the stock holders!

    Advice to Management

Realize your employees are your best asset, reward them, try to be as loyal to them as they are to you!

I worked at Crawford & Company full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There were some nice people. But they have been cut too.

    Cons

Out of date systems; constant job elimination; disengaged work force; narcissistic management team that have to cut jobs to make any revenue. Another cost reduction initiative announced today. Company is on a downhill skid.

    Advice to Management

Get a CEO that cares about the company. Current one doesn't and neither does Jr. The continued job cutting and how it was handled just kills morale.

    I worked at Crawford & Company full-time

    Pros

There are no pros for this company, unless you are Canadian, old, and unattractive.

    Cons

Management had their favorites, not based on position or educational background, i guess based on nationality, age and personality . I had higher seniority and found out that others with less seniority had better parking than myself. I was forced to train people and once they didn't need me anymore they laid me off, reasoning being that the company was making adjustments to the structure of the company. Didn't matter how hard I worked, the constant glares and dirty looks from co-workers and management was a daily on going thing.
The day they laid me off was the best day of my life, i went on to bigger and better things.
DO not waste your time at this awful company.

    I worked at Crawford & Company full-time

    Pros

None...I could make more working at Lowe's than the commission they expect you to work for

    Cons

Make sure you get everything in writing regarding commission pay upon hire. I had to seek legal counsel and won.

    Advice to Management

    Flee like I did.
