I have been working at Crayola full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Well defined brand known all over the world. The employees are very friendly and easy to get a long with. I've made some great friends that are like a family! Work is steady and they're constantly thinking of new, innovative ideas for products. Crayola will be around for a long time!

    Cons

Lack of communication between groups a lot of times and things get lost in the mix. The work load seems to keep piling up but you're still expected to get it all done even though you're not giving the proper amount of time. The product development process can feel backwards at times as well.

I worked at Crayola full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The pay was above average and the benefits were good. Most of the employees were easy to get along with.

    Cons

In a nutshell, the management team is awful. There is no loyalty. There is also a big lack of communication.

    Advice to Management

Don’t treat the employees like they are just another number.

I have been working at Crayola full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some managers take an active interest in you and help you grow professionally I feel supported by my team and my managers Casual work environment - people are approachable, wear jeans to work every day

    Cons

Company is slow to change. Some people who have been w/ company a long time don't have a global perspective Lack of communication between domestic and international teams -- but improving Corporate building seems like it has not been updated since it was built in the 1970s! It isn't an exciting place to walk into as an office building. Rainbow cafe (staff cafeteria) feels like you are eating in a warehouse. Small food selection and quality not great despite recent change of food vendors.

    Advice to Management

Invest in more US marketing! There are opportunities to grow sales if we invested more heavily. Yes, everyone knows Crayola in the US, but we still need to be top of mind and turn that brand equity into profits. You can sense there is not alignment company-wide on the fact that we are a MNC. Get everyone on the same page, Crayola is global!!
