    Pros

Gained amazing leadership experience and expanded my professional skills dramatically.

    Cons

Things change very fast, you have to be prepared to keep up and see the bigger picture. Not a work environment for everybody.

I had pathetic department manager who knew nothing, and was an out right liar and fraud!

    Pros

Easy job, benefits are not bad either. Flexibility with your schedule. The company culture is cool as well.

    Cons

The pay should be more due to the fact they want you to provide a world class experience. Better schedules are needed. Company policies are unclear and most decisions are left up to the department manager.

    Pros

Advancement opportunities, Amazon company, great management and leadership. Incredible stock options. Dependable co workers and difficult but worth it review process.

    Cons

Little work life balance, pay is less than demand of job, golden handcuffs of stock options. Difficult to level up.

Great place for motivated young people

Sep 12, 2017 - Anonymous Employee in Charleston, SC

    Pros

Relaxed, casual work environment. Awesome coworkers. Lots of opportunity for advancement locally and globally. Engaged and down-to-earth leadership. Competitive pay and great benefits. Company is willing to invest in you if you are willing to work hard and commit. Professional development opportunities. Sense of doing something important. Love the customer focus.

    Cons

It's very fast-paced - if you have downtime something is wrong. You will continuously be pushed to go beyond your comfort zone, which is great for learning, but stressful. Can be quick to burn out if you can't take the pressure in stride.

    Customer Service Representative

    Pros

Relaxed and fun environment. Great benefit package. Flexible hours. The ability to work for a company that loves their customers.

    Cons

Mediocre pay. Not much room for growth within the company, unless you relocate. Too much focus on metrics and numbers than the overall quality of work their employees do. It is mainly a glorified call center, because most of the services the company provides is outsourced. Not much is handled in-house. Not enough staff handle workload. Constant turnover of employees. Constant change of management.

In sales, very reasonable starting sales position

Jul 28, 2017 - Sales in North Charleston, SC

    Pros

-salaried however hourly: must clock in 40 hrs a week (minus vacation/personal/sick) - commission, stock with Amazon, other financial benefits - relaxed environment (Very causal bc computer only sales), co-workers are nice, office is great - most of the department can work remotely - Managers try to do their best to listen to your input, however a lot of red tape to go through with being Amazon owned (pro/con I guess) - Receive a decent amount of time off first year and builds each year on your start date with company (basically doubles)

    Cons

    - Phone heavy: your day-to-day is based around a cube, phone and laptop - Can be very mundane, basically do the same thing every day. - Authors can be very confusing, rude and demanding. You must have thick skin and a resilient attitude to be able to work here - You need to demand attention and involvement in projects in order to grow within the company. There is little growth in the sales department. However, being amazon owned (part of its many subsidiaries) you can always look into other positions with Amazon or other subsidiaries, which are basically endless. --therefore you will have career development assignments that you need to take seriously - It can be very overwhelming, some days you dread going in bc you don't know if it is worth it.... - Gotta have an eye on the prize attitude

The best and brightest of Amazon

    Pros

CreateSpace was one of the best places I have ever worked. Everyone in the office is beyond helpful and friendly to work among. I could not say better things about the company and the people that work there.

    Cons

One of the hardest parts of the job is the types of contacts you get some times. It was not uncommon to have a pleasant conversation with one member then get the next person on the phone yelling at you. Luckily, the angry contacts were outliers and the majority of people who call and email in are nice and easy individuals to work with.
