    Best Agency In The Business

Oct 18, 2022 - Assistant in Los Angeles, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

As agency gigs go, it doesn't get much better than CAA. The company prides itself on being better than Hollywood's past and providing fair and equal opportunities for all. The company constantly tries to add excitement to the average day and provides ample opportunities to bond with co-workers and make the environment feel special. Best agency assistant pay there is. Really strives to live up to their values.

    Cons

Typical agency office cons. Long hours and fast paced environment, but that is what you are signing up for.

    I miss this company

Aug 29, 2022 - Accounting Associate in Los Angeles, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

New Hybrid schedule. Access to movie premiers, excellent for networking in the entertainment business, end of year bonus, summer Friday (half day schedule), Nice team. If you are in the main building you will see celebrity clients

    Cons

The pay is too low for living in Los Angeles. If you are not in accounting you have a better chance of being promoted. The accounting department is treated like step children. The office is separate from the main building.

Fascinating, but can be pretty intense

    Aug 18, 2022 - Executive Assistant
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Tons of massive learning opportunities / exposure to the inner workings of the industry - Lots of incredible connections - Interesting work - Open dialogue about future opportunities

    Cons

    - Strenuous hours - Super fast paced, which can be a fit for the right person, but definitely feels like treadmill - Can be a punitive working culture - Responsibilities are vast for the pay -

Great stepping stone, but have a plan to leave unless you want to be an agent

    Aug 17, 2022 - Anonymous Employee

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Highly recommended for younger folks and others looking to get into the entertainment industry. CAA is a great place to get contacts and cultivate the skills you'll need in any job in the industry. Most people are great and I've been able to make some great friends at work.

    Cons

The few bad apples are *really* bad and contribute to a toxic, self-perpetuating work environment. Worth highlighting that CAA's HR department works overtime to make themselves feel like your friend; for younger / entry-level employees, don't fall for it. They're here to protect the company's interest only. For BIPOC folks - be prepared to be a token.

    Great Launch Pad

Oct 12, 2022 - Executive Assistant in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The most intense "sink-or-swim" opportunity you can find. Working here is a crash course in getting things done, building relationships, and setting a foundation for wherever your career takes you.

    Cons

There is absolutely zero work/life balance. The compensation does not match the volume or expected standard of work.
