I have been working at Creative Breakthroughs full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have been working at CBI for less than a year. There is tremendous room for growth within the organization if you put the effort in. CBI culture is exciting and upbeat, I enjoy coming to work everyday. The business development manager is a great leader. He supports creative thinking and helps build the team up as a whole. The CEO and Executive team are very involved in everyday activity throughout the company and listen...

I have been working at Creative Breakthroughs full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

The foot soldiers are normally pretty good people.

    Cons

OMG, where to start. Horrible every? The company in general struggles at every level but the academy is probably the worst part. Avoid it.

    Advice to Management

You're disconnected from your employees. Managed services is a farce, you don't get how it works.

I have been working at Creative Breakthroughs full-time for more than a year

    Pros

CBI is a growing company with tremendous opportunity for moving upwards. I have been here for 8 months and had two promotion. There is great support as far as growing your career and learning from people who have been in the industry. The energy in the office is phenomenal. Although it sounds cliche, there is a family like culture here. It is nice to see a growing organization that stays true to core values.

    Cons

We are a very fast-paced company and that may not resonate with everyone. It is also performance based so it certainly isn't a job where you can coast. On the flip side, if you work hard and perform you will be rewarded.

    Cons

They make promises they can’t keep, poor morale, they really don’t know what they are doing or how to properly have managed services Be prepared to be payed WAY under what you are worth and what market value is

    I worked at Creative Breakthroughs

    Pros

CBI can be a great place to start your career as an entry level security analyst. Most of the people that work for CBI are awesome- a lot of the shadows under senior managers and analysts are great learning opportunities. Great core values, family oriented culture...made a lot of friends that will last throughout my lifetime. You can have a great experience working for CBI if you work under a good manager.

    Cons

Some managers will see your potential/areas of strength and put you into situations where you will be set up for success, but others will put you into situations that aren't your strong points and set you up for failure. The academy program is advertised as a program that is supposed to train you, and that is true to a certain extent- but throughout my 2 years there I taught myself most of the information by either studying...

    Advice to Management

Instead of trying to cross train analysts in many different subject areas throughout their 2 years, train them in one area so they excel in that particular area after 2 years. Trying to give analysts "a little bit of everything" can be good for exposure, but does not result in "5 years of experience in 2." If you want strong analysts to stick around, you need to make sure you're paying them fairly. Low wages and small...

    Pros

Fast-paced Fun culture, the employees are fun and smart Everyone is passionate about security Everyone is competitive, which makes for a hardworking environment that pushes people to excel

    Cons

IT operations is so mismanaged that it is a detriment to solving problems. If you want to get something done, figure out how to circumvent it. There is a side effect of the competitive nature of sales where a salesperson will package services or technologies that are not within the scope of the technical consultants abilities in order to make a sale.

    Advice to Management

Reign in salespeople Fix IT operations. This is the single most toxic part of the organization

I have been working at Creative Breakthroughs full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The organizational structure works here. It's a well oiled machine, which is very different than what I've seen at previous employers. The company is stable, and everyone works hard. Blue collar work ethic is a company core value, and the work is rewarding. You are recognized for the effort you put in.

    Cons

I can't think of any cons.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Creative Breakthroughs full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Reviews can sometimes be a bit "emotional". I've decided to provide one based primarily on facts. Ask yourself if you'd like to be part of an organization with the following attributes: 1. CBI’s been operating for 26+ years. 2. We’ve never once missed a payroll in all that time. 3. We’ve got plenty of people walking around here with 5, 10, 15+ years and I am extremely proud to be in the 15+ year group. 4. I...

In this life, anything worth having must be earned. It’s no different at CBI. Meaning, if you come in late, leave early, follow others, shy away from a challenge, shirk responsibility, look for excuses verse solutions to problems then I can guarantee you will not be comfortable at CBI. For these reasons I can understand why some people have left CBI. It's definitely not for everyone. I wish I had joined CBI earlier...

    Pros

I'm writing this review because it's long overdue - and some of the reviews I've read I'd challenge for facts to support it. I'm seeing several sales rep reviews - here for less than a year. It's Sales. It's the toughest job there is. (20/80). And we are in a dynamic industry that redefines itself every 3-5 years. I've been here for over 10 years. Before CBI, I was successful at Fiserv, CGI, and a 3 man start-up...

    Cons

Same cons you'll probably find at a lot of companies. No company is perfect, CBI included. If you find a "perfect" company, I'd stay away. You will likely be asked to behave like a robot, with little opportunity for creative initiative to develop and further your career. I guess that's fine for some people. I know numerous people from our competitors out there. It's a changing industry, and I'd put CBI against...

    Pros

CBI is a great place to learn, develop, and gain experience often unavailable at other companies. Support and mentorship is plentiful leading to success and opportunity for upward mobility. CBI embraces a performance-based culture that focuses on individual growth, ability, and performance. The CEO's open door policy and transparency of vision embodies CBI's core value: Authentic.
