    Pros

A buffer between your employer and you, no mandatory overtime with great pay

    Cons

You might be the first to go if there's cuts

    Subpar on Both Sides

    Pros

Fast to respond on the client side.

    Cons

Garbage communication on the candidate recruitment side. Recruiters will ghost you, will try to convince you to take lower money, and are generally rude. "Benefits" are terrible, and they will not be transparent about them unless really pressed. On the client side (my current company utilizes them), they submit really terrible candidates. Like, people who are BARELY qualified for the job at hand. Instead of "dazzling" clients with a fast dump of unqualified candidates, why not actually do the job you are being paid for and RECRUIT good candidates?

    Good for freelancers

    Pros

They connect you with clients based on your skillset and the type of work you're interested in. Getting paid is straightforward since everything is systemized (no need to chase after the clients). Pay is on par with freelance market rate.

    Cons

The clients pay the agency who in turn pays you. Not sure what the agency's cut is.

A great way to make good money and feel terrible while doing so...

    Pros

You'll make good money and hopefully a few close friends. It's exciting at first but gets old quickly once you start dealing with clients and crazy candidates.

    Cons

I worked at CC for a few years and while it was a great place to make good money and fast, the culture was terrible. The company is run by a bunch of people who have been there for 10 plus years and are super out of touch with how to be a good Recruiter, Manager and quite frankly a good person. Everyone is always bickering and at each other's throats and you can't rely on management to make things right. You'll never get positive feedback from anyone. It's always you can do better even when you're at the top. They just push and push and don't stop. There is absolutely no room for growth, especially with some employees being there long term. You couldn't pay me to go back. Oh and the benefits suck.

    Good company

    Pros

If they think you’re a great talent, they will pitch you to top clients and negotiate the most competitive pay rates for you. You have to do an exceptional job at your initial interviews with them.

    Cons

Benefits are not very good - but at least they do have some options available. If you’re a contractor and have been one for a long time, they will not actively help you become an FTE, they want to keep you on contract.

    Underrated

    Pros

Gives you 3 holidays a year, sick hours add up, and offers pretty good insurance after working 1500 hours from my knowledge.

    Cons

Doesn't tell you the benefits transparently unless you ask for it, takes a big chunk of the pay, and sometimes the recruiter can be bad

I've found success-- but a lot of that is luck.

    Pros

Booking your first gig with Creative Circle is one of the difficult things about finding jobs with a creative staffing agency. But once you're able to build more of a rapport and familiarity with some recruiters, that'll be the key to ensure that you can book other gigs. This is more advice for other freelancers who want to find jobs with Creative Circle-- recruiters will help you find jobs and will (sometimes) advocate for you with different jobs, but understand that you need to advocate for yourself. If you can find other freelancers who have to go through this same process, commiserate! Share your salaries/hourly rates with each other. Find solidarity with your fellow workers and know that you are more than whatever quantitative value a company assigns to your labor.

    Cons

Once you're registered with them, you'll be receiving lots of emails about different gig opportunities. You'll be responding to many of those with no response from the recruiter-- but that's ok! Just keep responding back and something will bite. Also, when a recruiter tells you what a certain job's rate is, you can negotiate! Most companies expect there to be some kind of rate negotiation, even if they're working with a staffing agency like CC. So do it! I wasn't told this when I started, and it was only through advocating for myself that I realized negotiating was standard.
