I have been working at Credit Suisse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic friendly team to work with. Really enjoy the work and the atmosphere.
Lots of technical challenges, and can really see the benefit of the work we deliver.
Although there's so much work to do, there's never too much pressure, and there's always a fair deal of flexibility over working hours and occasional working from home.

    Cons

Always too much work for the team to do, but (on the bright side) it does make the time fly; can never believe how fast each week goes!

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in the IB parts of the company

I worked at Credit Suisse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Professional, world class and a great learning experience. Amazing senior leadership. Global exposure. Great benefits, internal mobility and travel opportunities.

    Cons

Work life balance is tricky. In order to excel at your career, you need to put in time. Once you put in time, you start being really involved. This could be a bit tough for people who are not good at time management.

    Cons

In spite of efforts to whittle away silos, they persist.

I worked at Credit Suisse as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent working environment with friendly and approachable staff willing to pass on knowledge to the next generation.

    Cons

Salary was pretty low for the amount of hours and intensity of the work but fair enough as I was only an intern. Would probably have done it for free.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on where people went to university etc. during recruitment. Oxbridge isnt everything and often other candidates are superior.

    Pros

Open management environment, receptive to change and innovation. An inspring place to work!

    Cons

Lots of processes you have to push through to get anything done. They can be frustrating but ultimately they keep the business running well, in my opinion.

I worked at Credit Suisse as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great technology team, and the people that work on the business side are a fantastic bunch of people.Great location, great on-site facilities.

    Cons

Can take a long time for higher level management to make a decision. far too many levels of management as well. I used to be a full-time employee many years ago - but the company is unrecognisable now.

    Advice to Management

Stop managing by powerpoint! Start making decisions and see where you are wasting money. Invest to save, and do away with a number of the legacy systems.
