    Advice to Management

Spend more money on people and technology. Turnover is high. They can't keep good people, something should change.

I work as a technology analyst. You’re looking at legacy tech, bad documentation, and not the greatest on boarding process. Light years away in dev efficiency completed to tech firms. Comp is below market

    Pros

Above average coworker relationships. Good benefits.

    Cons

No work-life balance, management chooses favorites. High burnout rate but a good place to learn the value of what a work life balance should be, by being in an atmosphere that doesn’t value it at all. Even though this group is under the CSAM umbrella, the culture and work life balance reflects that of the investment bank. 15+ hour work days (9am-12am) or later is a standard at the analyst level. As an associate,... 10-12 hour work days become standard. There has been more turnover in recent years due to the cultural aspects of the team.

    Advice to Management

Give juniors more responsibility so they can learn more in the program. After many years in the group, both myself and others don’t feel like we’ve walked away with a defined skill set other than being hyper communicative to overly demanding senior managers of the group. When I began looking for new career opportunities, it was challenging to talk about tangible projects I’d done. While there are numerous tasks... delegated to analysts and associates, many are just administrative or organizational - so it’s difficult to find what “work experience” you’ve gained.
