I have been working at Creighton University full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Overall values of the University match mine. Service to others, ability to discuss religion, etc.

    Cons

Areas on the staff side have been drastically reduced (several mass, early retirement offers) so people are doing the job of 2 or more people. Things are being missed because we don't have time to give them proper attention. Then not enough appreciation for those trying to handle it all.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff and stop taking them for granted.

I have been working at Creighton University full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Professional Development Opportunities, Care about Mission, Great Students

    Cons

Very little transparency for strategic vision all while boasting about how transparent they are.

    Advice to Management

Don't hint in March that people will have to move entire offices, perhaps as early as May, and then sit on that information into late April. How is this doing anything other than crushing morale?

I have been working at Creighton University full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Creighton is a great place to start your career. A small/mid-size school opens up opportunities that may not be available at larger schools. Creighton offers very competitive salaries

    Cons

Lack of visual diversity at the faculty/staff level Understaffing/stewarding leads to overworking of employees Campus Politics

    Advice to Management

You will lose quality candidates by not increasing your visual diversity to match Omaha and the student body. Let your talented staff run with their ideas. Don't let red tape and the "Creighton Way" stymie good ideas and production.

I worked at Creighton University full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Beautiful campus; small class sizes; great student-professor interaction; open-minded professors; everything is within walking distance; plenty of opportunities for undergraduate research.

    Cons

Expensive tuition; most courses are the traditional "sage on stage" powerpoint lectures (i.e. slow to adapt recent innovations in teaching technology or unwilling to do "flipped classroom" learning etc.)

I have been working at Creighton University part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

You tuition is paid for, so you don't have to worry about that until you graduate. You also get invited to events that can get you free food sometimes.

    Cons

They pay the least in all Creighton University and don't cover healthcare cost which is almost $3000 a year if you opt for what the school offers.

    Advice to Management

At least bump students to $1500, otherwise students study but struggle.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Creighton University full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

A good amount of PTO. Sick, Vacation, Holiday and "Snow" days if Creighton Cancels school. Pay is decent for the work you actually do.

    Cons

In the public safety department, there are no leaders. The day shift supervisor thinks he is everyones boss and tells other employees on other shifts what to do. He lies constantly, and other supervisors act like nothing happens. They say they will have your back, but they never do.

    Advice to Management

Fire the day and night shift supervisor. One is too big for his britches and the other is spineless and is a "Yes Man".
