I worked at Creme de la Creme full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The great, inviting atmosphere for the children. I loved that they could move and learn in different rooms and not be "stuck" within 4 walls all day. The pay is good for the industry and I made a lot of lasting friendships there.

    Cons

Working with children all day every day is exhausting! It really takes a special person to work in this field.

    Advice to Management

It's unfortunate that some employees need to feel rewarded for doing their job, but I guess that's the unfortunate mindset with some people these days? Keep doing what you're doing and always look out for the best interest of the little people.

I worked at Creme de la Creme full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Watching these children grow in such a short amount of time was definitely a plus! Fortunately, I also worked with some kind and wonderful women in my infant room so it made the day go by easier with the children. It paid well and had some benefits. There was also a change in management at my location which was good. The new guy seemed more approachable.

    Cons

I was always annoying to have to find a TQ teacher if the Teacher had to go to the restroom. We tried to follow DCFS instruction but I felt like TAs that had more experience in childcare than I did, should be allowed to be alone with 4 children if the TQ needs to take a bathroom break. It was always difficult because there were never enough TQs especially at the end of the day. And the weekly lesson plans were always given super late.

I have been working at Creme de la Creme full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You grow to really care for the children and their parents. The facility is also very nice, especially the water park.

    Cons

    Where do I start?
    1. Lack of communication - They don't tell you anything, and if they do, it's right before they need you to do something. Expect to be a floater regardless of what you are hired for because they'll literally call you while you're in the middle of teaching a class, and if you have a coteacher, they will send you to another room.
    2. The kids do not learn. - The idea of 30 minute rotations is great if you can actually do what you want to do as a teacher. They watch you like a hawk on the cameras and don't allow any flexibility within the schedules. Most of the time, they will not even give you a copy of the curriculum, so that shows that they do not care about the learning.
    3. MANAGEMENT - This is the worst part of the job. I have read that management is bad at all Cremes (excluding the two downtown) so I am assuming that the company just does not care about how their employees feel. They are very unprofessional, take 2 hour lunch breaks, and stir up drama all around the school. The executive director is the worst boss you could ever imagine. She has led to so many employees, and even other directors, quitting. She sits in her office doing nothing but harassing people all day, and that's when she decides to come to work. I don't understand how she has not been fired yet.

    Advice to Management

Get organized. Communicate with your employees about what is going on with the school. Grow up.

    Pros

Love the Kids and other teachers.

    Cons

Not enough training. Paid days off are horrible and management did not come from a management background.

    Advice to Management

Get more training on how to please your employees and clients to keep them.

I worked at Creme de la Creme full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed most of the kids immensely, and most of the staff was tremendous and very underrated. Pay was not bad for a childcare center. Creme has a lot of potential, but they waste a lot of it. Water park was super fun.

    Cons

Director was terrible to staff and children alike
Very high teacher turnover, making everything constantly chaotic
Favoritism, and often to staff who did the least amount of work or caused the most trouble
Too much moving around for young children
Probably not worth the money parents paid

    Advice to Management

Hire educators to run your centers
    Make teacher satisfaction a priority

I have been working at Creme de la Creme full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The children are so sweet, they families are very caring and show interest in you as a person.

    Cons

If I could rate a Zero I would. Do not expect to go to the bathroom for at least 4 hours. You can call management but they are always so short staffed that no one is available to give you a bathroom break. The breaks are very short especially if your children dont nap and my break would often not be till after working seven hours already. The management is very unprofessional they talk about staff members in front of parents and to other staff. The executive director talks poorly about staff and her own director including using profanity. They appreciate your own personal time and expect you to stay or come in whenever they need you and they decline your days off even if it is months in advance.

    Advice to Management

Needs a whole new management team. The executive director has family in upper management so they let all the complaints slide.
