I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've been with Crescent for almost a year and so far they've been excellent. They seem to really care about their employees and managers.

    Cons

Of course in the hotel business we would always appreciate a higher salary!

    Advice to Management

The managers and executives I've come in contact with have been helpful and seem to care about the hotels and the employees.

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Passionate leadership from the CEO, Exec Sales, property GMs and Front Desk Agents. The company is growing and adding hotels often.

    Cons

growth causes pain - but infrastructure is being beefed up to accommodate growth, email and reporting platforms, presentation templates etc.

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire from within and without - the mix of perspectives is what keeps the growth manageable and fun

  3. "Crescent is truly the best company I have worked for, lots of support from upper management and very humble leadership."

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I see all these reviews saying "disapprove of CEO" have any of you met Michael George? He is the most engaged, humble and down to earth CEO there is out there. If you have not met this man, find out about him first before placing bogus reviews on glassdoor.

    Cons

Work/life balance can be tough sometimes, but i am allowed to take my vacation days when needed unlike other companies.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your associates needs and wants and keep up the great work. I only wish Crescent the try best as they continue to smash our competitors.

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

I've worked for many hotels and hotel companies before but this company is simply the best! Whether it's listening to associate feedback, building benefits packages, salary etc. the investment this company makes in its associates is truly wonderful. Crescent is simply the best hotel management company to work for by far.

    Cons

I don't have anything to share here.

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

Great teams at property level. Starting to fill portfolio with quality brands. Decent support for the properties from the corp. offices.

    Cons

Corporate management is puzzling and concerning. Poor management of capitol projects. Entirely too much focus on budget and not reality of daily operations. Budgeting expectations difficult to meet.

    Advice to Management

Hire corporate officers with credentials not friends and family.

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started off with an above average pay. Atmosphere was great. Management empowers you a lot. There are opportunites for advancement. General manager is the best manager I have ever worked for.

    Cons

Was told I could not be promoted within my department. The raises suck. I got a 58 cent raise after being here for over a year. The building is in poor to fair conditions but is going under renovation. No matter what you do guests are unappreciative m

    Advice to Management

Have your employees back 1000%. Give them reasons behind your decisions. Raises should be higher if the employee is an excellent employee.

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

Its a job and a check...

    Cons

The VP positions are a revolving door
CEO lets me know about trash in the parking lot each time he comes here(glad to know he pays attention to the big issues we face)
HR has little work as we cant get people in the door
Legal has issues "Forced Arbitration" for everyone
Look at the trends, they dont lie......

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Great work atmosphere/culture, excellent HR staff
-Decent benefits (401k plan with employer matching, and life/health insurance)
-Decent employee rates at Crescent Properties
    -Recognition of hard working employees

    Cons

-Pay/raises should honestly be a bit higher...for the duties and responsibilities there are at the front desk at a large & busy property, $11-12 is more appropriate to start with, and the annual raises should be higher

    Advice to Management

-Add properties in the north/northwest Houston area!!
-Keep up the great work culture and constructive approaches to correcting/coaching issues...positivity and compassion, along with recognition and rewarding great work, goes a very long way with employees!

I have been working at Crescent Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Their starting wage for hourly team members is higher than comparable jobs in the area.

    Cons

Upper Management-They don't follow their own policies and procedures.
They do not have a set standard of operating procedures.
HR department is the furthest from being ethical that I have seen.

    Advice to Management

Purge the vast majority of your Regional Managers and a good chunk of the GM's. When your GM's are better with numbers than people, you have failed in placing the right people in the right places.
