I have been working at Cricut full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

One of the best things about working at Cricut is that the atmosphere is one of passion for pleasing our customers and going above and beyond to help each other. I love working here (over a year now). Not many companies have a 'higher mission' but Cricut does, and it shows in the way we do what we do.

    Cons

Communication can be an issue, and part of why it is lacking is because people aren't up front (don't say what they really want to say) or people refuse to follow processes that have been laid down to optimize our operations. This is a big deal when you work at the end of the pipeline because you're the one who ends up having to rush to get something deployed/sent off to customers on time.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to tell people if they are under-performing (of course nicely, but be up front). Lay down strict guidelines for our processes and expect assets and peoples 'parts' of a project to be delivered in a timely and efficient manner. Cricut's culture is one of 'being nice,' but if you refuse to address issues (even if it hurts feelings), it only creates headaches for the team and people only say what they're thinking...

I have been working at Cricut full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I work for Cricut because they simply value their employees. The atmosphere is one of caring. The CEO is always helping us to understand that we do what we do to help people. I have never feel mistreated here and the company mission is one I can believe in.

    Cons

Team communication could always use work, but that is more the weakness of individuals than the system that is set up. However, there could be systematical improvements more conducive to communication that I believe would eradicate those personal weaknesses.

    Advice to Management

Continually re-evaluate the way we communicate and operate between teams. It must be efficient. Don't be afraid to tell teams -- even individuals -- when improvements in their workflow must be made.

I worked at Cricut full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The product is amazing! The Cricut machine is so cool! I really liked working on it and on the software that runs it. There's some pretty cool technology and innovation in some parts of the company. When I was hired on, I was told that much of the upper management had been cleaned out and that management was really doing well. Because of Cricut's reputation I was a bit hesitant but I took the plunge because I liked the...

    Cons

I feel like upper management is probably doing better than before, but the real problem now is middle management. As a software engineer who cares considerably about culture, company values, etc. I would think that the change in upper management and culture overall would have done well for the company. What has not happened yet though is a restructuring of middle management. I feel like Cricut is hemorrhaging in the personnel...

    Advice to Management

Try to stop the bleeding by keeping great managers who are not the "teacher's pets" of upper management and maybe letting some of the middle managers (teacher's pets) go.
