I worked at Cricut full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    They have nice Mac computers.

    Cons

Where to begin... Chaotic is the only real word that comes to mind. You're going to have to dig deep for motivation here. The company is mired in poor or lack of procedures. Myriad of tools and technology that is all over the place, poorly configured and prone to failure. Managers frequently makes changes to projects including changing production and adding new tools. Some of these tools, including the project...

    Advice to Management

You're not a startup, stop acting like it, all your doing is causing your engineers unnecessary grief. Adopt some policy and procedure so that your production systems will stop failing.

I have been working at Cricut full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The work environment is very engaging and the company is growing like crazy. Internally the management is very level headed and there is a definite feel that everyone is at the same level and working together to on everything.

    Cons

The software is a complimentary product to the machines and is not the main product. It's very important but some may see that as a negative.

I have been working at Cricut full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I consider Cricut a medium start-up. It's fast paced and there's plenty to work on. Because of that we get to move around to different projects which keeps things fresh. When I interviewed I asked about the bad reviews here on Glassdoor which they assured me were sour former employees and wasn't indicative of current employees or attitudes. I was a bit hesitant but I'm glad I've joined, it's been a great adventure...

    Cons

We are still trying to find our footing with development process cycle. But it is being discussed and actively worked on which is promising rather then not seeing anything done to change it. Because of that, up until now it has felt that requirements weren't always as clear as I would have liked.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on the product and the employee. I have seen both whilst here at Cricut and I feel it's a good balance. Make sure managers are trained to be a manager versus just someone with that title.

I have been working at Cricut full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

This is a wonderful place to work if you like solving problems and working with new technologies. The development team has strong kung fu. The culture is great with a close, family-like atmosphere. The executive teams never seem stressed or angry. I have never heard one yell or even raise his voice.

    Cons

Good help is hard to find. This job isn't for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Broaden your sphere of influence. Embrace the beauty of Utah and move here. Become a great example of Silicon Slopes leadership rather than imitating Silicon Valley leadership.

I have been working at Cricut full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good salary & benefits! - Friendly, welcoming co-workers - The recruiters are prompt and honest, which was very nice while I was in the middle of a job search - You are definitely given the tools you need to do your job! - Management tries to get you know you personally - There are a lot of projects to work on, and they're flexible about who is working on what, so you can always find something you'll enjoy doing!...

    Cons

    - The company is undergoing a lot of organizational changes, so it can be a little chaotic at times. - They're not afraid to buy the tools developers need, which is great, but it has led to a somewhat bloated/fractured software ecosystem. They're working on consolidating and standardizing though.

    Advice to Management

Keep being as personable as you are! Stop forcing us to use Macs.

I worked at Cricut full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The product is amazing! The Cricut machine is so cool! I really liked working on it and on the software that runs it. There's some pretty cool technology and innovation in some parts of the company. When I was hired on, I was told that much of the upper management had been cleaned out and that management was really doing well. Because of Cricut's reputation I was a bit hesitant but I took the plunge because I liked the...

    Cons

I feel like upper management is probably doing better than before, but the real problem now is middle management. As a software engineer who cares considerably about culture, company values, etc. I would think that the change in upper management and culture overall would have done well for the company. What has not happened yet though is a restructuring of middle management. I feel like Cricut is hemorrhaging in the personnel...

    Advice to Management

Try to stop the bleeding by keeping great managers who are not the "teacher's pets" of upper management and maybe letting some of the middle managers (teacher's pets) go.
