I have been working at Crispin Porter as an intern

    Pros

The majority of employees, regardless of department, are incredibly excited to have interns and help them grow. If you show a desire to grow in advertising, and are proactive in seeking out help and mentorship, then CP+B is a perfect environment.

The people are honestly reasons 1-5 of why you should work here.

    Cons

More of a general advisory to interns in generals, you need to take ownership of yourself. If you are not staying on top of your business and proactively seeking out work, things (and you) will fall by the wayside.

    Pros

    Pros: Big Clients, Smart People

    Cons

NOT a meritocracy, work inefficiently, dying culture, running ridiculously lean, Lori Senecal ONLY CARES ABOUT BOTTOM LINE. period. Way too political, haven't won any legit new business in a while.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees and your culture

I worked at Crispin Porter full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you work with are the best part of this agency. They're fun, exciting and work to make everyone better.

    Cons

The leadership is awful. Chuck and Lori need to remove every person in the leadership team and start over. They are killing this place. What used to be a fun and exciting office, full of culture and great work is now a place run on fear. There is zero encouragement from the leadership to do better work. Zero incentive to do anything outside of "regular work." There are no creative reviews, they don't promote creatives and they don't give raises.

They are losing clients left and right. The clients they do have are awful to work with and don't produce work.

Ralph Watson has the maturity level of a 13 year old girl and he runs the department based on cliques and who he likes. If you brown nose him, you'll get good briefs. If not, good luck.

If you're a potential candidate, my advice is to stay away until they get better clients and Ralph is gone (if you're a creative).

    Advice to Management

Leadership is abysmal. Bring back the culture that made this place great. Pay people what they are worth and act like adults. Fire Ralph because he is ruining this agency.

I worked at Crispin Porter as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work with brilliant industry experts, work hands on with real brands, interact directly with clients, you are directly responsible for on client-facing items, get treated like a real employee, great opportunity to actually get hired, catered dinners, fully stocked kitchen, coffee, fun employee outings/events, killer networking, laid back vibe, you get PAID for a legitimate internship!, overtime pay offered.

    Cons

You won't make more than $10/hour for full time hard work, long hours... the cons should be expected in the industry, and the pros clearly outweigh the cons!

I worked at Crispin Porter as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Got the chance to work on big idea campaigns, cool and various brands, got real agency experience, fun company parties, beer fridays, Boulder is a fun place to live.

    Cons

Horrible work-life balance. Stayed many nights in a row until midnight. Stressful projects. Employees aren't the friendliest to interns at least. Most creative directors lacked clear direction, leadership was all over the place. Didn't pay well.

    Advice to Management

Hire creative directors who know how to mentor and lead, vs ones who are just good at advertising
