      Great Internship Program

Jul 18, 2016 - Content Management Intern in Santa Monica, CA

      Pros

As an intern, you'll be exposed to the industry and agency life. You'll be work on actual projects and be able to feel like you made an impact. It's far from a pointless internship. If you put the work in, you will receive a lot out of it. Surrounded by a lot of cool, smart people.

      Cons

In terms of busy-ness, it can go up and down. Sometimes tough to be proactive and find work to do.

Really like CP+B, but it's not always easy.

      Pros

You have the opportunity to work with some exceptionally smart people, which only makes you better at your job. There are moments when I'm blown away by the level of creativity and willingness to collaborate. I feel I can really be myself here. Leadership, in general, is always seeking was to identify new 'at bats' and challenges for the staff.

      Cons

There are times when the pace and lack of work/life balances is almost unbearable. I've seen a lot of people burn out and lose their drive because of this. CPB tends to pay less than other agencies. Definitely negotiate before accepting an offer.

      Smart People. Smart Work.

      Pros

Anyone who comes to work at CP+B and does any bit of research before they do, will know what they are in for when they arrive. It's not a place to work at if you are looking for a 9-5 job, but I have yet to find a rewarding job in advertising that actually is. The company calls itself a factory, and it definitely lives up to the name. Constantly churning out great ideas. If good creative and working with smart people inspires you to come to work every day, then this might be the place for you.

      Cons

You definitely work hard here. And sometimes, it can get frustrating if you're unable to find any sort of work/life balance. However, about 3/4 through your first year, you start to realize that only you can truly be responsible for your own free time. If you don't make time for yourself, you'll likely get frustrated, burned out and want to leave rather quickly. This place feeds off of constant momentum for finding the best idea and for getting it produced. It's really easy to get so caught up in that, that you don't even take a few moments to just breathe. Silly, though it sounds, it's true. People who don't master that skill leave after a year or so. People who figure out how to carve out time and a life for themselves amidst the fast pace, typically last longer.

      Amazing place to work

      Pros

Lots of smart people working on all aspects of projects. Awesome clients. Management understands work / life balance, and compensate you for long hours when closing out a project.

      Cons

Advertising world requires long hours, heading towards the end of a project, things can get hectic. But the work and time is appreciated from everyone.
