I have been working at Criteo as a contractor

    Pros

Great perks for employee,s open culture from High-Level executives, Employees seem to work together, versus working in isolation

    Cons

Some internal depts can be very difficult to work for/with. Lack of sustainable process and workflow, but held to exacting standards . Unable to obtain critical information to do your job. Hard to manage the internal layers with other teams to get work done. Lack of onboarding when you start your job, so you feel completely ignorant to best practices and process, ( The I will wing it), until something blows up. There is so much potential , and again not sure how many other employees/contractors feel this way, or if its limited to one particular group. It feel as if they are still operating as a 1st year start-up, and that is not effective business when you are past the 3 year mark.

    Advice to Management

The need to create effective workflows and processes is critical for some depts.

I have been working at Criteo full-time

    Pros

    - Above average pay and willing to give huge bumps when leaving other companies.
    - Great spirit in taking on the competition and a lot of people are very knowledgeable about the industry.
    - Flexibility and ability to travel, depending on what team you're on.
    - Company is small enough to be able to still see your impact.

    Cons

    - For the most part terrible middle management. Tendency to promote people who have the most seniority versus the most qualified people for the job. Limited oversight for managers so it's easy to get away with stuff.
    - Culture is extremely hard partying, especially at the summit. Those who don't rage can feel out of place.
    - HR is not a trusted partner and will not take action where they should.
    - Good basic benefits but limited travel policy and no lunch on a regular basis.
    - French culture permeates even when working in America.
    - No surprise in tech but it's a boys club.

I have been working at Criteo full-time

    Pros

    - Lots of happy hour
    - Trips to Europe for training if you are in the right department
    - Free snacks and drinks

    Cons

    - Tons of work to do, you will have a lot of other projects aside from your client work
    - Confusing management depending on which department you are on
    - No process if the product is new
    - Not a clear process on career path

    Advice to Management

Really look at what your team has worked on and judge their performance by that, don't just get a basic understanding and walked away without fully understanding.

Don't tell your team to follow instruction and blame on the employee for not using their best judgement while they ARE following the same exact instruction that were told.

The product works. They hire really smart and talented people

    Cons

Working for a foreign company whose country has a lot of rules forcing employee benefits and living in a country that doesn't means you don't get the same level of benefits they do. There's little transparency from management into what else is being worked on to keep evolving.

    Advice to Management
