Knowledgable and friendly staff. Willing to help out. Very well connected in the industry.

    Pros

Great people work there. Hours are pretty good.

    Cons

No HR=not good. No overtime, if salaried, and little sick time. Vacation time to start is not great.

I worked at Criterion Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Really nice staff and management. You get to meet a lot of interesting clients and people. you get paid for an 8 hour shift even if you work less than that (within reason) 4 hour day means half a shift you will want to make up on the weekend but if you work 6 or 7 hours its likely you will be done for the day

    Cons

The industry is a little restrictive. you have to put in a lot of years if you want to get experience that is relevant outside the asbestos industry. they won't train anyone for certifications beyond asbestos unless you have been there a while and someone leaves or gets fired. hours can be long and the work can be extremely boring. Its the industry that is to blame really. good luck getting outside the asbestos... industry if all you have are asbestos certifications.
