    Pros

Such a great environment to work in, very inspiring and everyone just wants to put their best foot forward. Coming in as an intern everyone was so welcoming and ready to answer any questions. They were really concerned with what they could do for me and teach me, not just what I could bring to the table. Overall, very positive experience and would recommend to anyone to try and be a part of CM!

    Cons

Nothing negative to report from my four months there!

I have been working at Critical Mass full-time

    Pros

Smart people doing good work on huge global brands and accounts. Great culture, interesting problems to solve, and lots of opportunities to create work that gets noticed. I feel secure in my job, which I'm really thankful for in this volatile Alberta market!

    Cons

I was skeptical at first, because CM has had a pretty bad reputation around town. People would talk about crazy long hours, burning people out... but when I got hired, the idea of work/life balance and managing your time properly was paramount. It's clear they're trying to undo the preconceptions. All I've experienced here is exactly like any other agency: occasionally projects will require some extra time.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice for management - I like it here, everyone I get to work with and interact with are great. You guys hire well.

I have been working at Critical Mass (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is the first agency I've worked at where strategy and creative truly work together, as a result the work is better and more focused on the consumer then work that comes out of other shops. The focus here isn't on winning awards but on creating great work that will excite the consumer and sell product.

The agency is completely focused on creating a great space for people to work, in addition to monthly spot bonuses we sit down as an agency once a month to review the work - I've never felt so appreciated and respected in an agency environment.

    Cons

Work from home opportunities are limited, which is 100% reasonable, but there's a 20 word minimum for cons.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on new business - wins will bring us to the top of the agency world in Toronto.

I have been working at Critical Mass full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company. They provide tons of benefits like beer o'clock, usually about 3 work parties a year, popcorn, basketball, foosball, expresso machine, etc.

    Cons

Since its a large company your role is usually pretty specific, meaning you can't wear all the hats.
