I worked at Crittenton Services for Children and Families part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked as an after care specialist. Pros include flexibility to use any technique to support the development of the child/infant. Had plenty of supplies and materials to play and educate residents and their children. Well-organized

    Cons

Challenging teen parents. Often challenge your authority and knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide training and resources to help the residents regarding parenting.

I worked at Crittenton Services for Children and Families as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are wonderful and knowledgeable individuals in the therapeutic departments.

    Cons

It appears that there is little or no support via, clinically as well as supplies wise for the clinical staff by management.

I worked at Crittenton Services for Children and Families (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has a great mission and works really hard to help children and families in need. Employees are really passionate about helping kids and families.

    Cons

There is a lot of favoritism in the company and there is not a lot of consistency across departments. Too many managers delegating tasks to staff.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees more often and try to make them feel appreciated. Try to avoid favoritism.

    Pros

You work with a great team at this placement and mostly all the kids are great. The days go by fast even though the hours seem long.

    Cons

Some of the downsides are when you are short staffed. Things are much easier when you have people there to help you out when you need help.

    Advice to Management

There just needs to be more support when times get hard. There also needs to be program reviews more frequently because there can be times when clients think they can get away with anything.
