I have been working at Croma full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Get to learn core of brick and motar retail
Know and understand the latest and best of technology
Most respected amongst customers, vendors and competitors

    Cons

    Too much politics
Promotions are based on years of work or how good is your rappo with seniors; and not on talent
    No salary benchmarking
Higher management gives limited (no) opportunities of growth and very egoistic.

    Advice to Management

Give growth opportunities to compartively new comers.
Salary benchmarking for all levels is highly required.

I have been working at Croma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The name TATA makes you crave for this co
    - Gives you enough space and time to work on one element
    - Gives you status among the rest of the companies as your under the umbrella bracket of TATA
    - Job security

    Cons

    - Too slow in implementing anything.
    - Colleagues or better frame it (old Infinitians) working here are very easy going, they follow a govt. duty of taking things very easily as they are confident no one is going to sack them
    - HR here is very slow, you will literally have to stalk the HR for having to convey some issue as they will never bother to pick up call or call back as promised!

    Advice to Management

Please remove or do something about the employees who are slow pokes. They themselves are least bother if any thing great can happen for the co. and would be very interested for all the extra curricular activities happening around. This really demotivates any employee who is trying to get things worked out the better way.

I have been working at Croma (More than a year)

    Pros

I will not go into much depth here, but to keep things straight since the beginning, it is just like any other private company with absolutely defunct HR policies. At times, i feel shocked that how can a company being owned by a TATA group can have such flawed system. There are frequent linkups made between female and male colleagues. Even seniors/Managers, all would participate in such a baseless thing. A female colleague told me that there was a girl who did complain to the HR.Eventually, she was harassed so much that she had to quit the company. The HR is completely defunct here. There is no working hours set. Your manager will expect you to do overtime, which is fine, but there is no policy of pay for stretched working hours. You will find guys working 12-14 hours a day. Even if you work weekend, you will not get compensatory offs. And during the festive season, all policies go in vain, you overwork, you get treated like trash etc. It is really unbelievable that TATA is running this company. Save yourself the pain.

    Cons

I did not find any pros so i have ranted about all that's wrong in the pros.

    Advice to Management

Please start evaluating yourself on not just goals of the company, but also employee aspirations and before all of that, please improve your HR practices.

I worked at Croma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Develops a Leader
    2. Trains you well about the product and its SOP's
    3. Focuses well on customer experience
    4. Employee Centric and the HR policies are strong.

    Cons

    1. Does not identify talent during Internal Joining Procedure
    2. Referrals kills opportunity in Internal Joining Procedure
    3. Appraisal is beneficial not based on performance, but on the basis of how your rapport is with your immediate boss.

    Advice to Management

    1. As far as my personal experience is concerned, I wanted to get in the support office job from the floor job. Tried for more than 2 times, yet was not selected as the requirement in the IJP were closed internally in the back office and referral programs.

Please look into the potentials of such candidates. I had to take up a new course and change my industry because of this.

    2. Croma prices are relatively expensive than competition, it needs to review pricing with the vendors to compete with competition.
