I worked at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

I worked here for over 10 years, very good company to work for, financially stable, fun environment

    Cons

Difficult to move up the ladder, HQ is in FL. Many Directors/ Managers hold on to their jobs here, so no upward mobility.

I have been working at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

None... it’s a demoralizing company that uses antiquated systems

    Cons

The work/life balance is horrible, they expect you to be at work 24/7. They are understaffed because company treats employees horribly. In the past year I’ve worked there they’ve cut cost tremendously. Would t recommend anyone to work here

    Advice to Management

Stop treating entry level employees like crap. You guys have no idea how much it hurts the business when you guys try to save a couple bucks.

I have been working at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Great Base Pay -Seems like a good company -Good Training -Regular hours Monday through Friday -Enough freedom to work how I need to in order to get things done (this can vary depending on your boss from what I hear though) -The company keeps you up to date through quarterly financial meetings with leaders of the company. -You are helping people find awesome jobs all over the country and can help them make some...

    Cons

-You earn PTO as you go. I know some companies do it like this, some give it all at the beginning of the year. It just sucks because you get two weeks of PTO but you have to wait a whole year until you have that 2 weeks. I did not realize this when hired, and could not get it to be where I'm given it at the beginning of the year. -Lots of pressure for sales. So hard to get the numbers after hired that they are looking...

    Advice to Management

It's not a bad job, I think you guys are doing what you can do for the job. Just remember, there is more than one way to make a sale. You guys hired a variety of people for a reason, because we all attract different people. So let us shine through our individual personalities. And put in a little more work/life balance. My boss is at work before and after me every day, I'm sure they want to see their family too! But...

I worked at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

There are some REALLY great people who work there. The ADR's on the travel recruiting side try SO hard to help and make things good for their people. The recruiters and the associates are good, hard working people. Upper management, ehhh.....

    Cons

Cross Country has become completely non-competitive in the travel nursing industry. Where other companies accept margins of 18-19%, Cross Country demands 24-26%, which means you can't compete with the pay packages of other agencies. This company is hemorrhaging long time travelers to the competititon. There are great recruiters who have been there for a long-time, and it's a shame to see them struggling, mostly through...

    Advice to Management

Join 2017. Get rid of a DOS based ATS. It's clunky and makes it difficult for your recruiters to maneuver. Make it easier for your recruiters to source. Allow your recruiters to be competitive with the competition. If you're truly looking to grow -- and I have my doubts -- you need to compete. You've got great people working for you, let them thrive.

I have been working at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Coworkers are nice. The celebrations for "wins" are cool.

    Cons

It's not all about becoming a billion dollar company. You have to invest in your employees so they can invest in your company. The pay should be better, PTO can be better. The stress of working this type of job can be overwhelming. Employees need to know the company cares about them. As much as culture and "wins" are important, so is money. Upper management gets the best of it, I'm sure. But all they do is sit back and...

I worked at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very good medical benefits and the starting pay was not that bad. They do offer telecommute opportunities and this can be helpful for employees that are looking for that flexibility.

    Cons

Highly disorganized. Lack of communication. Low professional standards for and towards staff. They seem to make the rules up as they go along. The HR department must be extremely overworked because you will wait weeks for a issue to be resolved or a phone call to be returned.

    Advice to Management

Pay a close attention to the way processes take place in all departments especially human resources. The is where it all begins. When your HR staff is on point it will show through the employees entering the company.

Nice environment, they give you food alot, not required to do much on your own time, and decent starting pay

    Cons

very slim room for advancement and raises, so I hope you like your starting salary. Do not provide much training

    Advice to Management

invest more in your people in the form of training and youll get better results

I worked at Cross Country Healthcare full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The Healthcare providers are the best part of the job. Period.

    Cons

Upper Management has no clue. Pay is mediocre. Office culture is far from what upper management portrays. Employees are disgruntled. Pressure to hit quota by staffing any nurse that can breathe really contradicts their internal mantra.

    Advice to Management

Pay better. You'll get a more educated staff running the show. Listen to what your staff has to say. They're the ones in the trenches.
