I worked at Crouse Hospital full-time

    Pros

Crouse was a good place but had to merge with another health system due to financial difficulties

    Cons

Don't like the union very much. Not sure how it helps me other than taking my money

    Advice to Management

Communicate more openly and honestly. The CEO doesn't seem genuine

I worked at Crouse Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It used to be a great place to work ... but is no longer.

    Cons

The CEO .... she is self-centered and is only interested in her salary. She is a political master manipulator; resulting in the departure of several key leaders in 2016 and 2017 who cared about staff. She does not value diversity of thought.

    Advice to Management

Return to the culture that was present prior to the current CEO taking the reign. When you do, the staff will no longer rate you in the bottom 10% in employee engagement.

While working at Crouse, I was given many opportunities to grow my knowledge and abilities as a healthcare worker.

I worked at Crouse Hospital (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most employees are committed to caring for patients in the best way possible. They enjoy what they do.

    Cons

Past the years, with the change of CEOs, the culture has changed dramatically. It is not as family oriented or culture oriented as it was. Sr. Management is reactionary. And not approachable.

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff. They care about the Mission and Values. They are not sure that you do.

    Pros

Very supportive environment management is very approachable , supervisors make rounds and are open to being approached if needed.

    Cons

Working weekends is needed in the hospital but can be difficult for people who have children, it's to bad there can't be a way to change it to working every third weekend..
