I have been working at Crow Holdings full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Great work/life balance
    - Enjoy coming to work because of the people and company culture
    - Good exposure for junior level employees to executives

    Cons

    - Pay is below market rate
    - Company structure is very flat, so there's not much room to move up (on the flip side, younger employees get great exposure and opportunities early on)

    Cons

Divided culture, back-office departments are ignored, management is disconnected from problems on the floor.

I worked at Crow Holdings full-time

    Pros

    Absolutely beautiful campus.
Great benefits, the company takes good care of its employees.

    Cons

Incredibly high turnover for such a small team.
Very different culture/work environment from what you are told in interviews.
Management is the worst I've ever experienced and communication is terrible, especially when it comes to projects for clients.
Teammates constantly talking trash behind eachother's backs. Not a collaborative environment.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at the IP team and evaluate its leaders and their treatment of team members. There is a reason that so many people have left the team in the past few years. Client service is suffering due to the issues within the team.

I worked at Crow Holdings full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic camaraderie, great work life balance, thoughtful coworkers

    Cons

Career trajectory was hazy at times.

    Advice to Management

Additional internal structures will be needed to continue to grow and hire talent (I know these are in the works).

Great balance between team-based and individual projects.

I have been working at Crow Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Extremely smart group of people, great culture, and ability to take on more responsibility at a younger age relative to other firms; over last few years, senior management has taken steps to grow the enterprise through new businesses / platforms as a way to retain younger talent.

    Cons

At times, tenure can seem more important than productivity by some in the firm, but that is changing.

I worked at Crow Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Extremely efficient organization; well managed; institutional
Clear strategy with established processes; money making machine!
Roles, responsibilities, and expectations are clear; People are great at it.
Strong work culture; people get along; loyal
    Low turnover
As an organization, CH is going places!
    Work/life balance is great

    Cons

Limited room for growth as an individual; everything is tenure based and people won't leave
    Limited channels for upward feedback
Employees are slotted into a role and may feel replaceable; limited mobility; feel like a drone
Compensation is not based on performance; more based on tenure
Skills learned at CHC maybe too specific to transfer to other organization; the Crow way may only work within the Crow system.
    No more growth?
    Compensation is lower than market

    Advice to Management

CHC is currently doing great. It's profitable and will continue to be profitable as long as there is not an economic down turn. The organization is built to maximize earnings in a bull market. They have a solid strategy and an extremely cheap labor force to execute the strategy. The "investment professionals" are really accountants in disguise; they don't try to beat the market. They do the same cookie cutter deals over and over; it works! However, the system attracts and retains low talent individuals, who perform transactions, but do not know how to think. Uniform compensation/ compensation based on tenure (and not performance) creates an environment that promotes laziness and gaming the system. People tend to squat in their positions and are threatened by new ideas or talent; because of this, best and the brightest leave as promotions are tenure based. It will be interesting to see what will happen when the current strategy suddenly doesn't work. When the organization as a whole needs to adapt to a new environment, will they have enough brain power to transform themselves?

I have been working at Crow Holdings full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing Campus/beautiful art/architecture (it's like being at a private museum, all the time)
Professional Atmosphere and Individuals allow for a results driven, drama free work day
    Friendly People
Excellent HR team that looks out for you
Lots of perks on campus, family/private club atmosphere including free gym on campus, squash court, basketball court, complimentary sodas, juices popcorn and soft serve ice cream, formal dining, dry cleaning pick up, Concierge Service subscription, shoe shining, lunch stipend, on-site barber and many more!

    Cons

Some other companies that I have worked for cover the entire employee premiums for Medical Benefits. Crow does not, however they do make a significant/generous contribution to your HSA which is yours to keep and rolls over year to year.

    Paid parking

    Advice to Management

Thanks for making me feel at home!
