I worked at Crowd Content Media full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The one good thing about CC is they pay twice a week, unlike other content mills that hold your money for two weeks or more.

    Cons

There really is not a ton of work. You have to apply to every managed project and hope you get accepted. They love to deny your application without letting you know why. The editors are horrendous. I've worked in the freelance writing field for several years, dealt with a lot of different editor personalities, but the ones here are just mean and petty. They also have an editor message board where they criticize writers...

    Advice to Management

Get your editors off their power trip. We need to all work together to create the best articles/blogs/PDs for the client.

    Cons

Slow times are difficult, such as when there's few orders available, but that's freelancing in a nutshell – it's feast or famine sometimes.

I have been working at Crowd Content Media for more than a year

    Pros

The project managers are friendly, concise and easy to work with. I've always been able to ask for clarification on my assignments when it's needed and I usually get a reply to my questions very promptly -- even on weekends. I started writing on Crowd Content nearly a year ago and was hoping to write a couple of small projects each week to make some pocket cash (mostly to fund my makeup buying habit). After a few...

    Cons

The first couple of months are slow. I think I earned $15 or less my first few weeks on the platform and less than $100 a week for a while following that. The key is sticking it out though, once you're through the rough patch it's smooth sailing (most of the time). Pay rates are a little low compared to what most freelance writers charge (but that being said, it's fair for the work we're completing).

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! You've hired some incredible project managers and I'm stoked to be a part of this team.
