    I worked at CrowdFlower full-time

    Pros

You get to work for a "cool" "disruptive" company - Free Kombucha!

    Cons

If you want to get laid off because this company routinely can't raise enough money because it's spending it on Kombucha than this place is for you!

    Advice to Management

Come up with a real hiring strategy - don't base your staffing plans on what you need in the future, but what you need right now.

I worked at CrowdFlower full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easily one of the sharpest and most enjoyable groups of coworkers I've ever been a part of. Company showing some solid ambition with their push to get into the ML provider space, and customer growth on the training data side is excellent. Very relaxed work atmosphere, excellent perks, work/life balance was great.

    Cons

Relatively few, actually. Pretty sales-heavy, with accompanying company priorities, which may or may not be an issue depending on where you'd sit. Company is in the process of refocusing its offering and value prop so be prepared for some identity shifts.

    Advice to Management

Continue to recruit top talent, and make sure you take the opportunity to learn from them especially as you venture into new landscapes they may be more familiar with than you.

    I worked at CrowdFlower full-time

    Pros

    - Great environment, comfortable office space - it was easy to get whatever help I needed, be it general office needs or IT needs
    - Friendly co-workers - people were extremely amicable and everyone did their best to help each other. Honestly the part that I will miss most from CF.
    - Good benefits and work/life balance expectations

    Cons

    - Navigating the lines of communication can be difficult, especially between different teams
    - It's a SaaS product so ultimately it's heavily focused on client relations, and the ones who are the most difficult to work with tend to be the most vocal

    Advice to Management

You have a great product and a great market for future growth. Just make sure not to leave behind product development in the excitement to sell.

I have been working at CrowdFlower full-time

    Pros

CrowdFlower has been nothing but an amazing experience so far. The company is extremely transparent in all that they do. I have received vigorous training which shows that they genuinely care about there employees. Not to mention the open office, fun culture and rad product - I really enjoy working here.

    Cons

Not much to say, except the product can be difficult at times to sell but thats the name of the game in an early stage company.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you guys are doing, my only concern would be to make sure that we don't expand to fast and continue to promote from within.

I worked at CrowdFlower full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Crowdflower was my first role at a startup and it could not have been a more exciting ride. Lukas, Chris and the board of directors are visionary. They provided guidance but allowed me to build my vision for the sales organization. While I was young (and often brash), they helped me recognize my potential and thrive. They connected me to the right mentors, investors and influencers to shape my career even to this day.

While at the time things seemed dysfunctional, I now know that CrowdFlower (along with most of the best tech startups out there) are a breeding ground for hungry entrepreneurs to learn, build and grow. If you make it your own and help manifest the companies vision, you are in for the ride of your life.

    Cons

If you want structure and consistency, don't choose startups and go work for Google, eBay or Microsoft...not a tech startup.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on dreaming!
