I have been working at Crown Castle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and paid time off plan based on tenure. John Kelly was the best! Interesting and stable business! Most people will take the time to teach you.

    Cons

The wrong people get promoted for the wrong reasons.... a total boys club. And it's turned so political. There are a lot of job postings but usually people already know who they're going to hire! There is also an expectation of long hours and no flexibility- they try to focus on work life balance but do it the wrong way!

    Advice to Management

    See the cons!

I have been working at Crown Castle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Offer additional compensation for meeting and exceeding goals. Goals are on the lofty side but doable some months.

    Cons

Little chance for advancement for the introvert and even great performance won't guarantee you advancement. Pretty much have to be one of the chosen few to advance.

    Advice to Management

Provide an environment where all good performers have upward opportunities. Stop the blatant favoritism.

I worked at Crown Castle full-time

    Pros

Standard benefits Medical, Dental, and company match 401K. PTO. Paid Cell phone. Company truck and tools. Flexible schedule

    Cons

Ridiculous micromanagement and nepotism. Most managers have never climbed a tower ever. GPS installed in the truck so they know where you are at all times. They talk about having this Crown Culture its not there with a high turnover rate. So much for the open door policy. Keep your head down and if you speak up about management issues is does not go over well with the good old boys.

    Pros

Worked with a small but tight-knit team that made work more enjoyable

    Cons

Questionable business practices, such as attaching or building before approvals are received, which leads to fines and lawsuits. Also they do not perform regular check ups on equipment in the field, they are more interested in new infrastructure than upkeep of existing infrastructure.

    Advice to Management

Do not put employees in difficult position where they are

    Pros

    Cons

The Franklin office is not like the corporate office. A lot of butt kissing to advance and hard to get your foot in the door without knowing anyone that works in the local office.
