Pros
Great company with amazing benefits!
Cons
Lots of upper management promotions with little use
- Current Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
Great benefits for now, but those are changing as they become more corporate. Most of the people are great.
Cons
Company that preaches B3s is dropping its culture, focus and identity to fit in with corporate America. The EMTs have changed their tone about employee focus to the shareholders and focus on woke policies. Many are jumping ship as they see the company culture and focus has dramatically changed for the worse. Pay rates are low, and promotion opportunities are few unless you fit in the equity box with little to no experience outside of crown. Too much middle management in certain areas of the company, and most are incompetent unfortunately. To move up, you have to have ties to upper management or check certain boxes.

Pros
Good Pay, benefits and bonus, for company standard
Cons
Crown Castle has become so customer driven that it is losing touch with the employees. Complaints about bad managers goes un-noticed as they are safe as long as they play faithful to their manager, (very little managers left that are good), employees felt led on during COVID that we would have a solution for remote work but then forced to return to the office even if you do not collaborate with anyone in the office. Executives say they care about the employees but actions speak louder than words. Most management and employees will not do more than they need leaving the heavy pressure on the PMs/PCs - Company moral is definitely diminishing with employees and there is never enough head count. Once upper management sees the PMs/teams need help they bring in help when everything is up in flames and too late. 4 years ago I would have said 5 stars plus, but employees are starting to talk about seeking new opportunities,

Pros
- Super nice building - Cool Kitchen - Okay Benefiets - Cool employee swag
Cons
- Low Pay - Lack of accountably on staff training new hires; I started here after leaving an awesome opportunity to try and break into the telecom industry ; Funny enough, 3 days of "training" and laughably outdated programs leads to you being set up for failure and being dismissed. I let this company set me up for failure; with little help from the former project coordinator, a manager with little care until upper management brought it to her attention that I was not getting the support needed.

Pros
Pay and benefits are OK.
Cons
HR is virtually non-existent. Their version of HR is actually called "Business Support". All they do is process paperwork. Discrimination is swept under the rug by management even if it is reported. There are so-called "pay grades", but the actual pay rates are never posted or discussed. Managers severely lack training in every aspect. They do not hesitate to take credit for their subordinates' work for their own job security and promotion. There is absolutely no diversity in upper management, and they never take their employees' feedback seriously.

Crown Castle is a shadow of what it once was with low salaries and no room for advancement.

- Excellent Healthcare, Dental and Vision - 401 K Matching - Gym Membership Reimbursement
Cons
Where to begin? - Upper management is both incompetent and uncaring - Company culture is toxic - Low salaries - Inconsequential yearly raises that don't meet the cost of living and rising inflation in addition to low bonuses. (Raises and bonuses are the same across the board, regardless of an individual's quality of work.) - Days are filled with pointless meetings that make it hard to get any actual work done -99.9% of the time you're doing your manager's work for no recognition and less than half of their salary - No room for advancement or growth - Too process oriented (and processes and systems keep changing) which gets in the way of actually meeting company goals - A stunning lack of diversity

Pros
Pay and benefits are generally good.
Cons
Work / life balance is preached but not followed and depends on the position. Seems to me the upper management sits around looking for more and more bs for their teams to do slowing completion of the work that really matters.

Pros
Great opportunities to showcase abilities
Cons
Not a lot of realistic / meaningful communication from upper management. Some office politics and hierarchy games.
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
For the most part, you get to work with smart, generally amiable people - this was an enjoyable part of the company and something you will hear often, the Culture. Leaning in to a transparent framework when it comes to re-orgs & big changes so the employees feel their input is heard.
Cons
If you are at a lower-level status, your enthusiasm to succeed and find a place within the company is quickly met with false promises and deflection. There is no line drawn for the demanding workload or expectations as a contractor (such as training formal employees), but once you seek answers or feedback upper management will quickly remind you of your place. There is less of a focus on the work being produced as a top performer, rather your final outcome of advancement is more of a crapshoot of timing and what department you are in. There is proven record of even the most deserving of contracted employees being terminated while the "lucky ones" get to move forward in the employment process. It is well versed by the veteran employees that this is a sad, unreasonable trend that has risen over recent years. Another problem at Crown Castle is that how well you do is more of a matter of perception than the actual work you produce. Even if you're often identified as a good performer -- if you aren't vocal and toot your own horn to management, you are unlikely to advance quickly. You have to be your own advocate, which can be true in most work environments, but for the people who are more interested in focusing on the actual work and demonstrating their value that way, there isn't time partiality. Standards aren't uniformly enforced either. In fact, you will likely spend much of your time learning the daily work and systems on your own. Whether your team is helpful and/or encouraging is a big component of how well you do rather than the company providing the necessary tools and resources to succeed. Unfortunately it sounds like this will be a common factor during your entire time at Crown Castle, as there are so many changes and reorgs that regularly occur.

Pros
90 to 95% of Crown's income is contractually obligated at the beginning of the year. Crown compensates it's employees well and there is job security once you are established as a trusted employee. Crown is a small company with only 5,000 employees, yet is in the top 100 of enterprise value of publicly traded companies. Good benefits and time off is encouraged for work life balance.
Cons
There is not much upward mobility. Management positions will mostly go to those with management experience. This isn't a fast growing company with lots of opportunities. The growth is modest and lots of management positions go to outside hires. There is almost zero diversity in the workforce and upper management. It is a white man's world.
