I worked at Crown Prosecution Service full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A variety and complexity of work second to none. Huge responsibility and total hands on experience from day one. The chance to shape and salvage investigations. Daily court exposure whilst managing demanding case loads. Wonderful colleagues and hardworking much maligned and unrewarded yet frequently brilliant support staff.

    Cons

Poor to irresponsible management. Complete lack of pastorale care for their staff. Complete inability to instigate supportive work practices. Poor at managing change.

    Advice to Management

Change your management style. You have a retention problem for a reason.

I worked at Crown Prosecution Service full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Joined to help victims of crime to then become a victim myself.

    Cons

If you want a career that will make you seriously ill and is driven by management who don't care but just to tick boxes, then go ahead and join this circus.

    Advice to Management

total lack of responsibility towards a duty of care to staff, whilst hiding behind your desks and pay packets

I worked at Crown Prosecution Service full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

None anymore higher court advocacy is dead and HQ is being decimated too

    Cons

No career progression. Being bullied and managed through fear. Senior management have allowed jumped up admin assistants to take over and attempt to 'manage' the organisation and the result is mayhem while senior legal managers bury their heads in the sand and lie and cover up failings. Corrupt to the core.

    Advice to Management

Current team resign. A new era of a caring management structure is needed. Stop bullying your staff. You prosecute people for less

I have been working at Crown Prosecution Service part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Interesting and varied work. never boring.

    Cons

Unfair pay structure. Lawyers doing the same job are paid with as much as 17 k variance.
Constant changes imposed by senior management.

    Advice to Management

Do back to back courts to appreciate the pressure and workload instead of micro managing us.
