I worked at Crown part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent hourly pay, a lot of free food and paid trainig, the staff are treated well by their managers and easy enough job.

    Cons

Extremely stressful environment, no penalty rates on nights or weekends ( casino open 24/7), and customers can be absolutely disgusting treating you like dirt.

    Advice to Management

Make customers act like decent human beings, stop taking advantage of people with gambling problems and pretending like you care.

I have been working at Crown part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of the staff are nice. Your uniform gets washed for you. Meals provided but don't get too excited, most of the food is practically inedible and very unhealthy slop. The pay is okay too.

    Cons

Almost too many to mention. I'll list the top ones.
    -NO work life balance.
-Working all sorts of hours sometimes with ridiculous turn arounds ie. finishing work at 7am and starting work again that afternoon.
-The patrons are mostly angry, drunk gamblers that will hurl abuse at you left, right and centre.
    -Poor training program.
    -High staff turn around.
-Most of the staff hate their jobs.
-Expect to have an emotional break down at least weekly from being over worked and understaffed.
-Expect to have glasses thrown at you and be called everything from stupid to a 'c word' because you refused to serve a drunk/rude patron.
-Expect to be completely demeaned by patrons and made to feel like pond scum. Oh, and learn to deal with it because staff will not ask anyone that is spending money to leave, no matter what they say or do.
-Learn to love dealing with sleazy patrons that get away with it because they are a platinum member.
-No staff parking. Unsafe walking through the car park alone at 3am on a Saturday night.
    -Did I mention the patrons?

    Advice to Management

Put on an appropriate amount of staff per shift. Stop being pansies and tell off patrons who are flat out rude to staff!!

    Pros

Great entry level salary and employee benefits

    They do your laundry!

    Cons

Rotating roster day/night can be tiring
You cannot accept tips from customers
Not allowed on the gaming floor under any circumstances as a patron

    Advice to Management

Give employees the option not to go on a rotating roster for those wanting something more stable (with families etc)
