    Great IHG benefits, work trips, excellent experience in a fast paced hotel

    Cons

    The constant middle of the night phone calls and aggression from upper management made for way too much stress. That added to the fact that all guest complaints go through you are hard to shrug off after each shift.

    GM was good to work for. Good salary

    Cons

    Problem managers were allowed to fester, infecting other departments with negativity and egotism. Owners were ill-equipped to provide what the property desperately needed. No support or training program; learning curve was steep, and stressful.

    Pros

    The brand is trying to re-invent it's self. Lot's a fresh ideas and that makes for a fun atmosphere to be apart of. Especially if you have some great ideas - my experience is that they were listened to and often implemented. Whether you get the credit or not... tbd

    Cons

    The brand is worn. Not only are most of the hotels in the portfolio dated the systems are pretty dated as well. The "new" systems are supposed to be out already and were delayed for more than a year... even before Covid. So, their is a lack of communication due to this. My experience was also that there was no clear cut system on doing almost anything in my role. I was with a competitor hotel for 11+ years and the way of doing things were the same no matter what hotel you worked out (I worked at four). Here, it was all up to me to figure out. I would ask other hotels and they all had different answers.
