    The engineering department is incompetent.

    Advice to Management

    Leave. Bring in fresh blood.

I have been working at CrunchTime full-time

    Pros

Very nice people to work with,
    Good talent,
A good way to experience a very complex product within a rather small company.

    Cons

    Small bonuses,

Currently in between waterfall and agile approach

I have been working at CrunchTime full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very fun industry - restaurant, cruise and hospitality industries are cool.Big catered lunches and breakfasts on a regular weekly basis.
Parking $$$ allowance! HUGE and almost unheard of in Boston.
Location o Portland St in North End is awesome - right near The Harp, Grand Canal, The Fours -- the BRUINS the CELTICS! Employees go out a lot.
Business is Growing and is Profitable.

    Cons

Your ideas will be heard - but, bring a plan, a case study, something. You will need to prove your point before things get in motion and happen, and you may need to keep hammering.
The elevator is dreadfully slow and the key fobs for each floor are annoying.
If you're looking for a traditional office where you can close your own door, it's not going to happen here. Cube and open plan with a lot of common conf rooms.

    Cons

    1. One-man show, which can bring the entire company to a halt.

    Advice to Management

    Delegate responsibilities, more trust.

    Pros

CrunchTime is a fun company to work for, where I felt I was able to make a huge difference without too much effort. The management from top to bottom cared about what I thought and we worked as a team to get products out that affect a lot of people.

    Cons

There aren't really too many downsides. I know that one reviewer commented on staying late. I didn't really notice that, it may be a culture that has dissipated over the years.

    Advice to Management

I think that the management should keep doing what it's doing and fight the battles it has to against the clients.

    Pros

CrunchTime is a successful, privately held software company. There is little bureaucracy in the company, direct communication is allowed and encouraged. The duration of all projects are short so it's nice to have your efforts go into production in a short amount of time. The atmosphere and dress code are extremely casual, you'll fit right in with shorts and a t-shirt in the warmer months. CrunchTime's customers are true fans of their products.

    Cons

Given the short time lines of the projects there is little room for error. The standard work day is longer than many people are comfortable with. With the companies size you are required to perform support, maintenance and new development.

    Advice to Management

    Focus.
