I worked at CryoLife full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

CryoLife fosters an environment where you are rewarded for hard-work, good decisions, and open-mindedness. Mistakes will be accepted, but not the same mistakes repeated. The company has grown extremely fast and steady in the last 4 years under the guidance of Pat Mackin (CEO), as evident in its stock price and market cap reaching and then exceeding $1B in April. Different levels of employees will have different...

    Cons

CryoLife still has issues to resolve in its structure. There are still silos that are slow to come down, but they are getting their. Expect to work long hours.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget your employees as your most important assets.

I worked at CryoLife for more than a year

      Pros

Great place to get experience in a quality control laboratory. Everyone works very hard to complete the daily work plus do side projects. Great training program, with many different procedures to learn and perform. Can be a lot of variety in the day.

      Cons

Low pay. Long hours performing extremely repetitive tasks. Not enough desk and lab space to accommodate all of the work and staff. Low morale.

      Advice to Management

The lab has outgrown it's space. Update the technology to reduce the workload on the people. Better pay will increase morale.

      I worked at CryoLife

      Pros

Very hardworking coworkers (on certain shifts), great pay on top of differential and over time, benefits, interesting work that helps sick people, off for three days

      Cons

I want to try and be honest as possible with this review and my feelings on this position at this Cryolife. This was a bitter pill for me to swallow since I have done well in previous jobs and had high hopes for this one. This is a very stressful position since you must deal with sensitive materials and the way the people around you react. Documentation is extremely important here due to the nature of the position and...

      Advice to Management

Do not use fear and intimidation in order to correct an employee if they are having a hard time sit them done and discuss it with them. Have supervisors go through some sensitivity training. Don't be so obvious in your favoritism toward one employee or another it will only breed contempt.
