I have been working at Crystal Cruises full-time

    Pros

Incredible culture that is very fast-paced. Everyone has a voice at the table. Management is open and willing to listen. Very smart leadership and colleagues work together instead of working against each other.

    Cons

Too many meetings and there can be long hours. But that is every place I have ever worked...

I have been working at Crystal Cruises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Travel benefits for family and friends

    Cons

Very stressful environment especially in the call center. There is lack of proper communication internally especially with promotions. The call center agents sometimes are the last people to learn about promotions so you feel stupid when a travel agent calls and you have no idea what they talking about. General disorganization with new systems being introduced ever so often before fully integrating the organization's needs. Very low pay for overworked reservation agents.

    Advice to Management

Work on internal communication. Introduce a sole river department. investigate why you have such a high labor turnover

I have been working at Crystal Cruises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The People that work at Crystal LA know the product and have an understanding on how we have been the most successful Luxury Cruise Line. We know that it is a niche market and works very differently than a mass market cruise line.

    Cons

Company was bought by Genting Malaysia and began to move company to Miami and most recently to Kuala Lumpur which has brought a sense of uncertainty in the Los Angeles Branch. Each department has a feeling that they are next to be relocated, which has caused a stressful work environment. They Implement computer systems before they are ready to go live which in turn causes delays in payments and disrupts day to day operations.

    Advice to Management

Be open and Honest to your employees. Have a more open line of communications.

I have been working at Crystal Cruises full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent place to work. High morale. Reasonable working hours for most of the time and very well paid. Huge company expansion with new cruise ships coming in the near future. I would definitely recommend this company.

    Cons

Company's expansion requires fast decision making process and sometimes late working hours. Company's previous Miami corporate headquarters were ok but new offices to be received in due time are state of the art.

    Pros

The company is small enough that it's like a family, but the company is growing so there are a lot of opportunities to make a difference.

    Cons

Since we're growing, you have to be ready to jump in and help to get things done.

I worked at Crystal Cruises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers were great to work with.

    Cons

Management sucks, all current reviews are lies, used to be a luxury company, not anymore, due to new headquarter. HR is not your friend

    Advice to Management

Management knows nothing, especially the new one

I have been working at Crystal Cruises full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great product and people that want to do their best to continue offering a great product.

Rapid expansion and room for growth (for some people).

New owners that want to invest to grow.

    Cons

In the past two years the company has failed on its promises to its employees.

Decisions are made either without any or with incorrect analysis of impact on operations that then causes company to scramble to fix issues. New policies and procedures implemented without proper communication to both direct and indirectly affected departments.

Typical solution to correct existing issues is to hire new personal instead of proper investigation of processes and admittance of guilt in order to find a proper resolution.

Although room for growth, unless you are upper management the majority of the company’s employees are overlooked when new positions are available.
    Employees are overworked and underappreciated.

Leadership is VASTLY different between departments. If you are lucky enough to have good leadership in your own department you still have to interact with the other business units that are unstable.

    Advice to Management

Invest in employees, they are the most important asset.
