I have been working at Crystal Springs Resort (NJ) full-time

    Pros

Looks beautiful. Chefs Garden is amazing. Ambiance personified

    Cons

Staff is extremely hard working and supportave of each other. There is no leadership to guide. You’re on your own and do barely survive each shift. Not enough of anything to make job easier. Not the place to feel appreciated, rather like a disposable garbage pail. On a downward spiral.

    Advice to Management

You cannot survive continuing operations as they are. Sad management does not care about well being of staff throughout resort. Its all a pretty facade with no hope of improvement until there us greater thought in leadership hiring process. Time to wake up and look around.

I have been working at Crystal Springs Resort (NJ) part-time

    Pros

There is job security because the turnover is so high.

    Cons

    Everything is so disorganized.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a stable reliable system for anything.

I have been working at Crystal Springs Resort (NJ) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are fun people to work with and if you enjoy the sport of golf plenty of fun to be had.

    Cons

The pay is painful, no direction/trust given by management, scheduling seems to be random, absolutely no chance to advance.

    Advice to Management

I get it's family owned but the lack of trust between all employees makes working feel like having a political debate at Thanksgiving dinner.

I worked at Crystal Springs Resort (NJ) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - We got to eat out once.

    Cons

    - Ridiculous evaluation standards
    - Poor Management
    - Very Long Hours
    - Poor Training

    Advice to Management

Terrible, hostile work environment. You will quickly learn that no one is happy -- including the people there who work really hard. The management is nasty. My advice would be to hire decent people in management to improve the work environment since the evaluations and job are by design brutal.

I worked at Crystal Springs Resort (NJ) full-time

    Pros

Beautiful property, it's nice to come to work each day and see the scenery.

    Cons

Management needs to change their attitude regarding their employees. Employees are treated like cattle and with little care about their working conditions, morale and work/life balance. Most departments are understaffed and customers suffer.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your office and pay attention to your workers, show them support and put the right number of employees on the shift.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees more, people do NOT last long in this company for a reason

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Crystal Springs Resort (NJ) part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at Ballyowen for about 8 years during high school and college. The environment was great, and a nice balance of work and fun plus the tips as a cart attendant are great for teens and young adults

    Cons

The owners could definitely put more money into the course and replace some poor purchases and make the environment more aesthetically pleasing, The driving range is a tough layout

    Advice to Management

The managers at Ballyowen, Black Bear, Crystal Springs, and Wild Turkey are some great people that know what they are doing when it comes to running a golf course. The have good relationships with their workers and the environment becomes a pretty tight knit group
