    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Culpeper Regional Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good culture based on small town values. Emphasis on customer service. Decent management. Good vibe for the most part.

    Cons

Raises are skimpy. Management spends more money on infrastructure and baubles.

    Advice to Management

Pay for good employees should keep pace with inflation. State benefits which are unlikely would be appreciated greatly by the staff.

I have been working at Culpeper Regional Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    People are friendly and professional

    Cons

Hours have been cutback, wages have been frozen, employer no longer contributes to retirement plan.

    Advice to Management

    Carry on my wayward son

    Pros

Good insurance benefits are about it.

    Cons

Very political - small town politics control how others like you/treat you. Haughty upper management think they are better than others in so many ways. Lots of lip service by management.
Very poor employee support, crappy food, kangaroo court dictates the blame game,

    Advice to Management

Be truthful - give those that work hard recognition - don't protect bad employees just because they are your favorites- stop looking for scapegoats and see yourselves - take a cut in pay

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Culpeper Regional Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are still a few good people here.

    Cons

Instability in leadership. Not sure what to expect month to month.
CEO says what you want to hear when you talk to him, but it goes no farther than your conversation.
Would be a good place to work with better top management.

    Advice to Management

Past management was good. Replace the what's there now with someone who will listen and make good decisions.

    Pros

you get paid, very nice coworkers

    Pros

Small community hospital before being acquired by UVA Health System. There is a strong sense of cohesiveness by knowing all the people in the different departments of the hospital.

    Cons

Since being acquired by UVA Health System feel more like "a number," than an individual and valued employee.

    Advice to Management

Inspire your clinical leader/directors to value their RNs and treat them fairly and as individuals. Positive reinforcement will actually produce loyalty more than negative reinforcement.

I have been working at Culpeper Regional Hospital full-time

    Pros

They are some excellent physicians and nurses mixed in with the bad. Could have been an excellent place to work and a nice community hospital but the administration chose to go the other way.

    Cons

There is an equal mix of excellent and mediocre employees and the administration overlooks the bad/ unsafe as long as they remain quiet about the slipshod care and practices at the hospital. The CEO and CFO deserve to be in jail for their unethical. Illegal billing and business practices. Employees are loyal but frustrated and continue to work there because they are tied to the area.

    Advice to Management

Resign or go to prison. Hopefully the hospital will be bought out by someone who cares.
