    Meh

    Pros

Being able to work as an Archaeologist, that is, working within my field is always a plus, and most of my colleagues were tolerable.

    Cons

This company seems to have communication issues, and a lack of respect for employees in general. They want every precious second recorded on a digital time sheet which should always equal a full day, no matter if it's 102F outside or any other circumstance. They also want everyone clocked out of their hotel rooms the morning of the last work day. For example, checking out of the hotel on Friday morning, working all day, then driving home hot, nasty, sweaty-etc. Home for me was in another state, so driving home all night long after working in a field in a heat wave was not fun. The payment system website was non-professional in appearance, as well as annoying to navigate.

Do not recommend-- anti-competitive non-compete clause, employees are scared to leave

    Pros

Some of the people working for CRA are fantastic people, fun to work with, incredibly talented, and very knowledgeable and professional. The climate varies a lot office to office, some are run by great (if somewhat inexperienced) people and do quite well.

    Cons

The President / CEO / Owner is a wanna-be cowboy who has tried to establish a cult of personality. He's adopted an alpha-male persona complete with all the trappings. No such thing as negotiations or discussions with him, it's "my way or the highway." Only company I know of in CRM that forces employees to sign a non-compete clause. The clause itself is incredibly draconian, and the owner (see above) has dragged people through court (at substantial personal cost in legal fees) for leaving. Company literally fired someone, then the CEO had to be convinced not to sue them when they found a new job. Pay is substandard for the field. Company over-extended itself in the late '00s, and used profits-- which formerly were distributed to employees as fairly generous bonuses-- to prop up failing offices. No employee salaries raised, no other compensation. Company continues to force crew to double up in hotel rooms, years after most other firms have ceased such nonsense. I have personally seen budgets that included single-occupancy rooms that instead forced crew to double up, increasing profits from the contract on the backs of employees. Per diem is relatively low compared to other firms.

    Cons

No real cons to speak of.

    Pros

Office in beautiful location in downtown area Interesting work and opportunity to learn about history around the area

    Cons

Micro-managing boss that is completely inflexible and condensing. Company promises regular raises but never delivered and created a negative atmosphere for workers.

    Exploitative and Toxic work culture.

    Pros

Some nice people there the work is interesting.

    Cons

Upper management is terrible, the work environment is Toxic. Gossip and office politics matter more than your actual work. Throwing others under the bus for their own gain is normal and to be expected. You will not get that raise they've promised you for over a year. They will cheat you out of money when they can. Honesty is not valued here.
