    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Cummins as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty free in direction if you get the right manager(for internship), Good place to work overall in terms of benefits and outside resources to get involved in the community

    Cons

A lot of bureaucracy, too much for me to want to work there, 6 sigma projects required for *ANY* promotion (results in worthless projects being pursued, and repeated), Technological dark age in comparison to other divisions, personnel typically under-utilized, they will not hesitate to send the actual engineering to some data center in India(not very fulfilling if you're an engineer)

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, they know what makes them 'innefficient' and will usually tell you and tell you often.

Former Employee - Co-Op in Madison, WI

    Pros

Great place to work for interns. Play a large role in product development and testing. Good compensation with experience. Would work there again.

    Cons

Interns often end up doing too much work. If you are not careful work life balance is skewed (towards work).

    Advice to Management

Motivate all employees to balance work and life. Give interns more feedback. Ask for more deliverables to give feedback on.
