Plenty of opportunity to move around the company

    Cons

It's incredibly difficult to move to a salaried position from an hourly position, even with a 4-year college degree.

I have been working at Cummins as an intern

    Pros

I have completed two summer internships at Cummins in the Fuel Systems organization. My first summer internship was in Reliability and current internship is in Current Product Engineering. I have met a lot of other interns and full-time employees and here is my general overview of the company:

-You're experience at Cummins depends on which manager you get assigned!
-I had a great experience with meaningful engineering projects to work on during my two summer internships.
-The engineering internship pay is top-notch and one of the highest in the automotive industry.
    -Great Culture with high diversity

    Cons

    - My roommates had an awful experience because of the manager they were assigned
-They had no work plan assigned to them, spending weeks stuck in a cubicle watching Cummins training videos.
-HR is very far removed from Engineers
-Typically have layoffs every 3-5 years
-Location is not Ideal for some people

    Advice to Management

Be prepared to have good meaningful projects for Interns when they arrive!
