    Pros

Scope and Freedom, good benefits, competitive salaries, leadership is present but not consistent across the organization, hence objectives are not always clearly articulated.

    Cons

Company needs to invest in software tools to improve its position in the project controls marketplace, small client - embedded teams; not easy to relate to the wider organization

    Advice to Management

Ensure that appraisals are fair and meaningful, encourage staff to grow professional knowledge and acumen, focus on training incentives and empowerment

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Currie & Brown full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The paid a reasonable salary for the work that was required.

    Cons

They did not provide any hardware (computers, printers, paper, etc.) or any pricing resources (MS Means, MCA, NECA, material and equipment prices, etc.). They did not keep the employees up to date with the procedures and formats that the customers required.

    Advice to Management

Be leery of what they say they can do without requiring you to provide all of the resources and hardware.

    Pros

Decent pay for what you do.

    Cons

Boring work, sit in a seat for most of the time to build up your hours.

I have been working at Currie & Brown full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Compensation was OK but it varies across the board. If you are talking to them about employment, play hard and they will most likely meet your demands. Don't expect to hear from your supervisor if you are sequestered at a remote location.

    Cons

If you are considering employment with this company, I would strongly suggest that you conduct your research in a complete and thorough manner. This firm nothing more than a body shop with very little substance as a company in the US. Very little intrinsic or intellectual value.

    Advice to Management

Euan McEwan really should wake up and figure out what is going on in the US. As they say, " The UK - the land that time forgot".

    I worked at Currie & Brown full-time

    Pros

Contract was with a good client.

    Cons

Very not competitive pay. No room for professional growth. Terrible upper level management with a serious lack of professionalism and people skills.

    Advice to Management

Offer more competitive pay and opportunity for professional growth.

I have been working at Currie & Brown full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It bought Sweett Group, my former employer and saved us from closure - I still have a job!

    Cons

The new C&B has no discernible personality. It's a combination of a company with little clue in how to do UK business (C&B) and a company with a clue, but no money (Sweett). The new entity is not maximising the strengths of the parts. Deaf ears prevail.

    Advice to Management

Stop imposing the C&B mindset. Be more open to the knowledge & experience of Sweett people. Communicate more often - employees in transition need to know what on earth is happening
