I worked at Custom Foods full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Owner/Boss is flexible and understanding. SOME of the employees that work there are great people. It's a tight knit family environment. There is a work/life balance which is great! This place can possibly prepare you for a better job. I do not recommend long term/career wise. I can't knock it too much since it served me well and was there when I needed it. I left when I was at my wits end though.

    Cons

When I was there, they offered no health insurance or any type of benefits to employees other than your annual vacation. The owner is a great person, however needs to be more involved with who's running/managing his company. There's no REAL HR Department on site so be prepared for everyone to know your business. All employees are on a payroll that's through a job agency. There is no real person in charge, people just elect themselves as the "CHIEF": and try dictating as such. Lots of gossip, and there's two sets of husbands and wives that work there....uhh..can someone say BAD FOR BUSINESS??? One set of rules applies to some, and doesn't apply to others. It wouldn't be hard to figure out who the rules apply to and who they don't. WHAT A JOKE.

    Advice to Management

To the owner: You really shouldn't allow a husband and wife team to work together. It's just BAD for business. Rules need to be set and followed FOR ALL EMPLOYEES. Oh, and hire a REAL HR person for your company. A person who is QUALIFIED and has done this type of work before. This company has so much potential if it would stop letting CERTAIN employees run the show!

I worked at Custom Foods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours are great there are 2 shifts to chose from.

    Cons

You cannot get ahead there unless you speak Spanish and you are a male.

    Advice to Management

Do not leave narrow minded people in management. You need an open minded person to try out other valuable workers.
