Pros
* Opportunity to build and try new things
Cons
* Growing pains leading to trying to do a few too many things at once
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
- remote-first culture is well executed - competitive perks & benefits
Cons
- engineering leadership does not follow the company's values - lots of tribal knowledge that is not well disseminated - missing standard tooling for processes like deployments - differences in culture and lack of training for leadership often results in personal insults and bias towards reports - echoing a recent reviewer, constructive feedback is withheld for long periods of time, leading to surprise during performance reviews - also echoing another reviewer, the amount of tech debt and unnecessary complexity in the codebase is astounding; often turning simple changes into a death march. This results in engineers often focusing on hacking code rather than doing it right to avoid scrutiny from leadership - mentorship is lacking, leading to many engineers that lean more junior and the small amount of feedback that is given by the technical leads is openly critical and sometimes derogatory - frustration and insecurity among engineers results in backstabbing, lying or taking out frustrations on peers

A Once Great Company Mired With Mediocrity
Dec 13, 2022 - Engineer in RemoteRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Great Benefits - Remote First - Global Culture - There are many talented individuals at this company, and great people
Cons
- This is no longer a company where you can produce your best work. Even if you're a top producer, success is not rewarded by the performance. - No transparent performance management means you may think you're a top performer and then be demoted without notice or offered feedback on how to improve. - Executive leadership demonstrably lies to departments as a path of least resistance strategy. - Multiple times, replacements have been secretly recruited to replace top-performing managers due to top-level beauraucracy. - This company does not operate on business principles at the employment level. As a result, I would expect layoffs due to extreme employee growth that hasn't followed sales targets. - Executive leadership uses the term "pace of change" to downplay feedback on questionable business decisions. - Leadership does not have senior experience with scaling a business, and all changes in my department will hamper this company's ability to grow beyond its current size. - It's operational chaos here where small individual decisions are debated ad nauseam over Slack. No clear owner of the decision-making process, but it won't be you.

Great company for developers that want to focus on getting things done

- Culture is to work quickly and iteratively with minimal process. So you aren't hung up in lots of overhead. - You can work anywhere - and some people are digital nomads - if that appeals to you - Good benefits & salary - A great, collaborative team where everyone contributes - not just based on their role - Well thought out new hire process - Lots of interesting problems to solve - Better raises than I've seen anywhere for many years - My team works really well together - respectful, sharing, collaborative
Cons
- Hired a lot of engineers recently so the people who have been here longer can be overwhelmed with questions or giving context. - Getting used to async conversations in Slack when teams are spread out globally

Currently experiencing growing pains

Most people are nice and easy to work with and the benefits are great.
Cons
Changes being made as we transition from a small company to a bigger one are painful. These days I t’s more about speedy output with less of an eye for quality.

Pros
- Amazing benefits + perks - Company retreats - Fun welcome package - Company 401k + match
Cons
- Below average pay - Unrealistically high expectations - Poor training - “Family” type of environment - Zero career growth opportunities. Switching roles within this company is pretty much unheard of. I’m now working for a company that has better pay, training, and a ton of growth opportunities. If these three things are important to you, then I do not recommend this company. Their benefits and perks are really the only things going for them at the moment.

Great opportunities, maturing company
Oct 18, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A great product with product market fit and people who care about solving customer problems. The company provides benefits that are generous and is trusting of its people to do great work. The CEO is open to better ideas and that attitude seems to be present with other senior leadership.
Cons
The company has grown quickly and needs to mature quickly. The company needs to improve on goal and expectation setting. Things are always changing, sometimes in a disorganized way, and that is the stage of business the company is in.
