    Pros

Extremely smart colleagues. Great environment and culture.

Keep growing the business and investing in great talent.

I have been working at Cutler Group LP full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good environment where everyone can openly talk about ideas. Owner of the company works 20 feet from everyone and is always available for questions. Not a typical high pressured finance environment. Instead, more focused on intellectual discussions and ways to improve efficiency. A very good work/life balance.

    Cons

Probably like this almost everywhere but the bonuses are discretionary, based on how you and the firm did. Personally, I would like to agree on a percent of profit before the year. Overall, bonuses have been fair with opportunities to make good money.

    Pros

I got to learn more at Cutler Group than working at Fortune 100 Companies. The company is small but it has all characteristics of a large corporation. Having a smaller team means everyone gets to participate in key decisions; which doesn’t happen at Google’s or Cisco’s. Benefits were Super Good.

    Cons

    Pre-market stress between 6AM and 6:30AM

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Cutler Group LP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is alot of freedom here but sometimes it is hard to get recognition. Almost everyone here is smart. If you click with the personalities with the people you work with you will like it.

    Cons

There have been concerns about the fairness of compensation.

    Advice to Management

Maybe hire a full time HR person so compensation can be calculated and paid out to meet people's expectations.

I worked at Cutler Group LP full-time

    Pros

Good working hours for early birds
The option market is interesting and has lots of interesting challenges

    Cons

General lack of professional etiquettes towards each other
CEO may be financially a smart guy, but in all other human aspects, he has a mind of a child.
To summarize, deciding to move out of that job has been the best career decision I've ever made.

I worked at Cutler Group LP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very lean company with flat structure and a real meritocracy feel to it
    Casual and friendly work environment
Great benefits paid in full by company
    Excellent work/life balance
Staff are treated like humans not resources
    Work is challenging and varied
Open to new technology and ideas

    Cons

Located in San Francisco. As a transplant this was a negative for me with the notoriously high cost of living and poor infrastructure. Commute time is horrid.
Compensation is on the low side compared to competitors.
The usual cons of a small company. You lose some perks/benefits (like no matching 401k or in-house education).
This is a plus for me, but be aware everyone is held to high performance expectations and wear multiple hats due to lean size.
Start time is early at 6 AM as trading hours are east coast time.

I have been working at Cutler Group LP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

smart guys willing to share ideas/info

    Cons

no formal training program, firm trying to play catch when several years and milions of $ behind their competitors in terms of technology, saw a lot of traders come and go over a two year period mainly due to losses trading

    Advice to Management

    none
