I worked at Cwie full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Free Food
    Mon-Fri hours
Good stepping stone to find a better company.
    Pretty building.

    Cons

    Pay is low.
    Pay is low.
Health benefits are unaffordable unless it's your only bill, 1,000+ per month for a family.
    Pay is low.
Some hourly departments have salary benifits while others do not=unfair.
Being a stepping stone, phoenixnap did not pay for good experience techs.
    No incentive.
Moral is low, company lets good employees go, and have established resources in Serbia.
Owner, Ron Cadwell has a multimillion dollar mansion by camelback, so at least you will be able to contribute to his Halloween bashes and Christmas parties...that do not include employees.

    Advice to Management

Raise pay to your data center employees.
    Higher experience workers.
Provide affordable benefits, burritos and free food just don't cut it.
Keep the yearly company party going, don't cancel it to make a big house.

    Pros

You see porn and eat free food.

    Cons

From Management to the Owners no one cares about you. Simply put, you’re a gear that can be replaced at anytime. You’re employment is to help line Ron’s pockets. If you show any intelligence or ask any questions you will be terminated without review or proper explanation. Frank, Ron, and team are heartless individuals who just want to get paid.

    Advice to Management

Grow a back bone and treat your employees properly. The pay offered is trash, the way you treat your employees is trash, Ron senior must be rolling in his grave. This is a far cry from how this business used to be ran and how the employees where once treated.

I worked at Cwie full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very professional atmosphere, despite the clientele the company supports (adult website owners). Free lunches made on sight, so saved quite a bit of money not eating out every day. Staff is very friendly with many of them being with the company for 5+ years. Entry level employees in each department will have the higher turnover, which is usually expected. Most people tend to keep to themselves. The environment is extremely quiet across all departments. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your preference on work environments. Vacation time is offered that could be rolled over from year to year. Health benefits are okay, but a bit pricey. They do offer 401K matching. You can tell the company takes pride in keeping a very professional and clean business image, in house and on social media.

    Cons

Lacked any company morale boost events, which apparently was conducted in the past so not sure why this didn't continue. A lot of changes with policies, organization, and leadership kept occurring, often times with no warning or heads up from the decision makers. The constant changes makes team members nervous and on edge, often resulting in resigning or poor work performance and overall decline of morale. The enormous layoffs of employees last year that were replaced with members in other countries affected many by fearing their own job security and second guessing their future with the company. Not much involvement or appearances to the staff from the executive, however this could be a pro if you prefer to distance yourself with upper level members.

    Advice to Management

Invest a focus on increasing employee morale. Employees need reassurance from time to time to know that they valued and appreciated. Provide employees more transparency with company changes and the reason as to why, so that gossip and assumptions are minimized and more people can be on board.

I worked at Cwie full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Food provided was great. Flexible schedule was wonderful as well. Very motivated to keep PCI compliance. Great place for someone looking for datacenter experience or an entry-level position.

    Cons

Little to no growth opportunities, company doesn't help pay for continuing education, high turnover (cycles through about half the people their every 6 months), company seems to be not continuing to keep people in either there Malta or us locations and hiring more in Serbia area.

    Advice to Management

Be more open, and invest in the us.

I worked at Cwie (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was happy enough to stay 10+ years, and would have stayed longer if they hadn't started moving jobs to Serbia.

    Cons

Company has begun offshoring, so be wary if you're looking for long-term employment.

    Advice to Management

    I hate minimum word counts.

    Pros

There is a lot to say about PhoenixNAP This place has good people, and you get access to top level gear. This is because the place is a Internet Backbone, as well as a ISP carrier hotel. I even got to help with prototype equipment that no one else in the world got to play with. You also get to see alot of different network and technology troubleshooting situations.

    Cons

Pay could be a bit better.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck and keep expanding!

    Pros

Free food if you're on shift.
Everyone is very helpful to give you more information.

    Cons

You will be forgotten on third-shift. You must out perform everyone on the team to standout.

    Advice to Management

Do more reviews for more than just job performance. Overall morale issues go a long way.
