I worked at CyberSource full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Initially a great place to be. Focused and energetic.

    Cons

Senior marketing leader gets caught up in clicks, and misconstrues information and under communicates strategy and goals. If strategy and goals are communicated, they often are not 'stuck to'. Allows abusive and bullying behavior while stating it will not be tolerated. Good employees have been lost due to the blind eye of management.

    Advice to Management

Take a closer look at your team and the bantering for position and note the antics that are in play, you have many individuals playing more games than you realize. While a few key people have departed that were causing issues, you still have a few that you are blinded by. Hence you as eel have lost some great talent.

I worked at CyberSource full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many opportunities for creating success, learn and evolve. A large percentage of smart/great people, being under Visa umbrella offers a lot of value and great benefits. CyberSource has the ability to offer more of what Visa offers to employees.

    Cons

Some earlier leaders that originate from the CyberSource leadership team are very talented and capable. Unfortunately some are allowing disconnected and unqualified managers to bully potential leaders for their own gain (trying to make others look bad so they can make themselves seem more valuable), holding talent back and hindering success for the organization. New opportunities to market tend to be blocked for capable team members, resulting in decreasing success that has opportunity to flourish. Either these areas of management need to see these issues, or they need to be 'seen' by other Executive Management as part of a larger problem. Symptoms have been surfacing, however they are being overlooked. Also greatly understaffed in some critical areas.

    Advice to Management

Engage and embrace talented employees, and recognize that leadership requires integrity. Identify and remedy 'clicks' and damaging antics that are hurtful to some of your potential/key contributors. Team leaders should be seasoned and have hands on experience vs. 'talking to the experience'. Ensure your leaders know how to grow a successful team vs. simply having a team that 'belongs to them' (e.g.: keeping folks at a more junior level to retain their superiority). This company has a lot to offer, and can easily address some of the damage that is in play.
