    3) The Spec/Memo system is very good. Good documentation is available.

    Cons

I worked at Cypress Semiconductor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a great place to start your career. There is a lot of responsibility for NCGs, and gives you the ability to learn a lot in the short amount of time. High visibility with everything you do to the top management.

    Cons

The company has become extremely bureaucratic during the time I worked there. So much of internal BS that needs to be done, that a marketing guy hardly does any work looking out. Growth is based on how well your boss likes you and can fight for you. So, this leads to certain people growing a lot faster than others. The company is in a place where growth is very slow, and most products are legacy. All new products are late, and miss the market by a long margin. most people in the middle management stick around as they have no where else to go, and hence put in more and more processes to boost their self esteem. In case you get stuck with someone like this, run for your life.

    Advice to Management

Core values are better if it is actually enforced. "We dont tolerate politicians" is one core value which is hypocritical.

I worked at Cypress Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Functional rotation is possible, if you can play the politics, rewards can be good

    Cons

Sychophantic work culture where everyone wants to please the CEO; No real delegation of decision making authority, overly focused on engineering efficiency and punishing any deviation from the standard way of doing things, Don't practice what they preach on core values. Total lack of empathy in the organization's work culture.

    Advice to Management

Delegate real authority, encourage risk-taking and innovation, have staffing flexibility and STICK TO THE CORE VALUES when it becomes difficult
